Haha...you changed your post Callsine? ...
Well the people that haven't read your original one can more or less deduce what it said by my reply...
It's a shame you removed it actually... it was quite creative ;)

No hard feelings...

Peazy J.

It's still there.
Perhaps it shouldn't mean anything at all what you said. But it did bother me that it was half compliment and half criticizing the sub genre accuracy of my track by saying it was "not real DNB" as if there was such a thing, it exists all over the entire musical spectrum. And well that took me by surprise considering I've been a D&B composer and dj for 20 years. And I made this for a hip-hop forum. I mean, do you know Drum and Bass music better than I? I'll tell you what I've known since 1993, D&B is very diverse, but the only things that really make it d&b is the snare on or around the upbeat, being 170bpm ish and having a prominent bassline, breaks and a climactic structure.

? questionmark again...So where's the part you wrote about my beat sounding like pots and pans, me being jealous of your beat and trashtalking about it?

I don't remember exactly coz I have a sieve for a brain but I recall you replying 'huh' to my commentthen me asking what? .. and eventually me explaining to you that the ryhtm of the hihats was un-d&b like coz of the rythm or something... where's those comments? just says 'gracias' now...
Just had a re listen btw... the hihats change from the position of my comment... I meant that part..
you can agree with me that they are different from there on right?

Could've (and now thinking should've) also said non traditional or non standard d&b ... didnt mean anything by it.. actually liked that it was different.. hence the positive compliments

...think you might be a tad sensitive on the matter.

There's really nothing more to it .. but lashing out and then changing posts etc really doesn't help matters..

I was there when jungle and d&b came up btw... organised and mc'd at jungleparties...

Bit annoyed by this all, however..forgive me if I rubbed you the wrong way... it wasn't intentional.

PEACE J

My bad, the wording got me worked up. I didn't see how the hats sounded different from any other D&B I've heard and as you can tell most likely, I'm a Junglist, turntablist, drum and bass dj who likes hip-hop as well as many other forms and I take my craft seriously. Too seriously at times. Anyways, sub-genres always seem to lead to nit picking and butt hurt. Sorry I let you hurt my butt. p.s. I changed my rant text color white. It's hiding in plain sight.

This week's battle was much more fun than I anticipated. It was really dope to see all the different dance beats on display with a few hip-hop joints.
My vote goes to KING KOOPA (click his name, please.) That joint was very fonky, sir. I also liked beats from these cats.

Giga HD
Sixfingerz
illhack
marknroll
Kzee Beatz
BambuHands
Fleat.
Joey Flaco
,,,J0ndis

Also I laughed at the the responses to my intro. Yo I honestly never heard that David Guetta song before this week's battle. I know he's annoying but I didn't think it would bring so much comedy, thanks guys.

How many people (I'm gonna get shot for this probably but fuck it) are swayed by seeing a lot of votes for one person, then think fuck their original vote because there is no way of your choice actually winning. I'm just interested that's all, don't think it helps being able to see the votes.

I was going to vote for King Koopa before I saw all the votes, gave a few more listens to some of my other faves for the week and decided to go with my original vote because King Koopa surely moved me the most and I could hear the amount of attention he put into organizing everything. Some others I may have voted for went over the time limit.

I think king koopa won this one. very fun beat, and great production.
It is easy to jump on popular vote so I will vote for

saadyah tz▾i

Lots of really good stuff to listen to again, which makes voting hard. I liked that it was switched up this week. Learned a bit.

Don't worry about judging by time limits dude, because if it went over, surely you should get a telling off for it going under, but that never happens, and I've never said it because I've never thought of it, but it should be a 2 way thing, if time is set as a solid rule. That Battle Faq really really really needs updating though.

Check it I feel like I don't chime in enough and I have been doing this the longest will also most the longest. I believe ODK has a point popular vote seems to be the law at times but with so many dope beats it just get crazy and you vote for the guy with five votes already. As far as rules go, yeah they are like guide lines. However with any rules you have to see which ones can be changed for art and which are been used because of the lack of skill. And time limit is a standard not a rule no one has time to listen to 30 to 50 beats at 3 min and 30 sec a beat. So if you are dope grab us and blow our minds keep it short and sweet. Always leave them wanting more. So what have we learned 1st vote from listening to the beats not reading the reviews, 2nd rules are made to be broke but only with good reason, so us logic when you are able it takes a ton of skills to flip something very simple and to keep it simple but to make it dope. And I hope ya'll peeped the daws shout outs. Peace keep it hip-hop which does not mean simply boom bap, it means fresh.

Okay, so obviously King Koopa won by a landslide...But he's coming up on 2 hours late to post the new sample. He also did not vote. Where you at Koopa? If he doesn't show up, this leaves us with a 4-way tie between Pete Range, Sixfingerz, Saadyah and Ogi Feel the Beat (according to my tally anyway). How shall we proceed?
