Sampling Drum Breaks

if you think the break you sampled is limiting your creativity, chose another break, or chop it out different and re-create another groove using that break - a lot of what Dilla (yea - here we go, another dilla moment did was take overused / oversampled breaks and approached them differently than those before him.
Are you writing original music over the top? If so, try not using drums when creating, maybe use a kick on the thirds instead, then create the drums after the tracks done............
i find with original music, an experienced drummer will hear the music and react accordingly, so if you start creating and your first thought is "i dont like this groove" - then change it.
Try not to over think it dude

Definitely experiment. If you feel something isn't working, you can always mute it, add a new channel and try different drums, then compare the two or use parts from both of them.

unless you're a beginner learning how to make beats in general, quit with that straight-up looping shit; this ain't the '90s lol.
