You should search the forum first.

I digress but am admittedly having difficulty locating the search function on the interface.

Additionally that post you linked should have been posted in the Stones Throw sub section.

i don't think there is a search function on the interface lol...sure would be nice though. i've learned to just type in keywords in google followed by "STMB" and seeing what comes up--usually i can find what i'm looking for.

back on topic though, this album looks to be pretty promising. at least in Sam's standards, that last "album" wasn't very enjoyable imo. i mean i dug all the beats...but it felt like a beat tape, not a fully polished album worth the $10 it was being sold for. i'm still debating whether or not to get the cassette/shirt...i might, just to be able to rock that Freudian image of a gun sodomizing a donut hole whenever i go out. plus i already got my tape collection started with the JW trilogy, might as well start adding to it.

Yea, not interested about the raps either, but beats like this make it alright:

Is wax and/or cd release happening later?

Leaving Records is all about cassette releases. So don't expect any other formats to get pressed up.

He's signed to Warp now, which really isn't that far of a leap from Brainfeeder. Warp is the parent label of Brainfeeder, if I remember correctly.

Its connected to Ninja Tune

He changed his production style up a bit. Only about 3 of these beats are "old Samiyam", a lot of the other ones are less heavy hitting, still good though.

He holds his own on tracks with Evidence and The Alchemist, he has this semi-jokey rapping voice and he has some good lyrics.

EDIT: I love this album.

No it won't. Please see Ras G's 'Raw Fruit' and KNX's 'Anthology' as examples.

really though, 4 mins. of that shit? haha, i dig the sequencing...and the beat is ill, but four minutes of anything with little to no variation is enough to make even the dopest of productions sound repetitive and amateurish. Otis makes the sickest patterns ever and even he knows not to make his beats longer than 2 mins at the most.

Luckily not all of the beats are this long.
