'And seemingly out of nowhere, the Brainfeeder rapper-producer dropped a new mixtape, Bad Jokes. It contains nine brand-new tracks with features from Israel and Oliver the 2nd. The latter also contributes production alongside Jae, Jonwayne, and Flying Lotus, which makes this release that much more special. Oh, and did I mention that there are some hilariously bad jokes being told on here? YES.'

i would highly recommend Black Castles, the remix-tape he dropped back in April with 13 or so Beastie Boys tracks getting the ol' Brainfeeder treatment...

Why is 6 afraid of 7?

Because 7 is a registered 6 offender!

My current playlist is way too cluttered with jonwayne, blu and DOOM atm, this should definitely help even things out a little.

Pervert is the perfect DOOM imitation, except in this instance I would call it a homage, because Jeremiah does not usually rap like DOOM at all.

i must have listened to this tape like 10 times yesterday, in a non-stop loop...

i think JW's tape is obviously filled with better raps, but the production on this thing...
Jesus Christ its good, especially that FlyLo beat.
i could listen to that track all day, and the rest of the beats are solid.
so while the raps may be kinda lacking (which is usually the case with Jae), his production more than makes up for it.
i want these instrumentals!!!!

I've listened to Pervert about 7 times and this song is very interesting to me. I have not heard such a spot on imitation of another rapper. If Jeremiah's voice sounded like DOOM's, I would believe that DOOM is actually the one rapping. The flow on this song, starting from the very beginning where the beat plays and he just hops in on the beat instantly, is classic DOOM. Also the random pauses in between lyrics, and a lot of the lyrics, is shit that I can see DOOM saying, because he's said it before.

"Brunette dyke with lips like Snow White"

Jeremiah really, REALLY nailed DOOM's style on this track. It's incredible to me that MF DOOM's style is so unique and instantly recognizable, that a newer rapper whose probably a big fan of him, 9-10 years later can make a song that sounds like DOOM in homage form. I was even more baffled when I realized that, Pervert sounds exactly like a 2004 MF DOOM song, but there is no song that I've heard from MF DOOM that sounds like this song. Unbelievable.

yeah, but "Oatmeal Face" takes the cake for me. and so does "Guns & Butter", those beats are incredible.
(i will admit that i completely agree with you about "Pervert" though, dope song for sure).

I need to get off of the DOOM obsession and fully digest the rest of the songs, trust me I am not overlooking them. :) I really like Soul Yoga and Bad Jokes.

i just found that Hildegard Knef sample Primate was referring to...its always very satisfying to come across dope samples without even trying or actively seeking for them. ;)
