Who else is down to start transcribing the lyrics?

I'm gonna try my hand with 'Broken'.

it's up on rapgenius.
not sure how accurate though, I'm useless at deciphering this shit.

i was checking out other message boards a bit, just out of curiosity cos i was interested to see what the 'kids' (ie freddie's fans rather than madlib's) were saying about the album. I figured they'd all be hatin' on madlib, but no, pretty much all positive. Funniest thing i saw was someone saying they thought that Big Time Watts' verse was the weakest on the album, he had no flow and didn't fit the beat or somesuch. lmao.

btw I'm still waiting on my pre-ordered vinyl from rappcats - did anyone get an email saying their's had been shipped? or did it just turn up without warning?

lol, is there any background info on whatever he's calling FG about? I have no idea what that dude is saying (sounds like he's complaining about FG selling out?) but I know the music behind it is awesome.

It seems to me that he's pissed at Freddie for not hooking him up with some of his rap money

who is Big Time Watts? never heard of him before that track...and to me it sounds pretty tongue-in-cheek that he's credited as a feature.

lmao upon investigation I found that Big Time Watts is Freddie Gibbs's uncle, and is obviously as gangsta as gibbs himself...

Gibbs's Vine is full of this dude.

i haven't really paid any attention to him, but this kinda backs up my initial impression that he takes himself a bit too seriously.
I mean, if fans are getting your lyrics wrong, then speak more clearly, no? You're supposed to be a communicator...

Anyway, I'm really only comfortable listening to rappers that are confirming stereotypes, not confounding them ;-)

one thing i just can't understand is why they did a best buy exclusive that isn't available?
i¡m trying to get this for a friend of mine out in cali and out of 10 stores nearby, only one has it, and for mail order it's like a 2-4 week wait.

if i was Egon i'd be furious about this, must be affecting sales badly.

Dude, the CD that Rappcats are selling has the extra tracks on it if that makes you feel any better.

thanks, yeah i saw that,
but it's $17 inc shipping from Rappcats or $10 from Best Buy if my friend collects it.

Times are hard.

Rappcats already had my dough for the LP anyway.
I support where I can afford to...

If you bought the lp from rappcats then you get the mp3 card for free...why spend more money buying the cd if times are hard?

With everything I have read on this thread, I have been going back and forth on buying this CD. I'm bored with gangster rap, but it is Madlib, but I have to much new music as it is, but everyone says it's a classic and so on... your post put me over the edge and I should have mine by Monday.

You talking about the part at the end of "High"? That's not what that sample is. Not sure what it is, but I assumed it was someone trippin their nuts off after smokin some bad shit. That's what I gathered from the dialogue anyway.

Or are you talking about somewhere else?
