One thing I like about this album is that the singles I didn't like sound way better in the context of the whole album. For some reason the flow/vibe of this first record reminds me of BK Vol. 5. I can listen to the entire record front to back.

Every time I want to hear some RK I have to set out enough time for the whole record... Truly, the only way to experience it.

Anthony Fantano says the same thing about "yessir whatever". Madlibs sound lives outside of the iTunes world and in his own realm. Creates great conditions for a reason to buy the record as a whole instead of one or two singles off the internet. Ironically, The Madlibs music depends on this picking and pulling from individual albums to exist.

Is that somehow different than the one on the LP? I don't ever listen to music on my computer so I never click those soundcloud 'singles' ST/Rapcatts post up.

haha no no it's the same. But people were saying how they weren't really feeling the singles they put out beforehand, I guess being The Mad March, Hold the Organ, Black Widow, etc.

I was personally sold based on the "45", but that Black Widow really hammered home the potential for excellence.
Would also like to take this opportunity to state how amazing DOOM would be over a lot of the stuff on this album.

I love DOOM as a lyricist but I feel like he needs to do a "rap konducta" type project where he makes an all accapella album and people put beats to it. That's the only way I think we'd hear new material thats not reissused.

Yeah picked it up with Blu's Give Me Flowers on Fat Beats, I've been away from my TT for the last few months which is why I forgot about this one. Picking up all my records/tt from home during Super Bowl, yay
