been spinning this record for two days STRAIGHT. I believe I can now unequivocally say that this is (so far) my favorite Beat Konducta release, and also one of my favorite madlib releases of all time. How it is not getting more attention is beyond me. maybe it will blow up when it comes out on CD... Spring is coming up quick!

That phone ringing in Hold the Organ used to annoy me on the soundcloud single but on wax through the big speakers, rather than my shitty laptop speakers, it is essential.

Bumping this for no reason, I know, but there's nowhere else I can turn to vent my pent up "RK is brilliant" acclaim. My girlfriend is sick of hearing about it.

^ I credit the fact that most cats have yet to hear it due to the vinyl only issue.

Totally agree with your assessment of the record as a whole. The Madlib took it up another notch with this project. Not a skippable track on either side. I truly can't listen to individual tracks, have to take it as a whole a la Donuts.

I've been more into mms 3 lately because it's so polyrhythmic and somewhat more interesting than rock konducta. There's so many more layers and it's very cohesive as far as a story telling device. Not that rock konducta is bad, but mms 3 takes more risks and sounds more like a narrative than its RK. On that note, I look forward to the next chapter in rock from The Madlib.

beat konducta in africa is my favorite of the whole series. i think it was relatively passed over because at the time there was a new MMS coming out every month.

I was kinda hoping we'd get RK Vol. 2 before Cocaine Zebra but that may not pan out, ah well.

Just soaked up Vol.1 for the first time(s) over the past couple days... man what a burner! I agree, one of Madlib's best projects in while and maybe my favourite Konducta release yet.

That "dog eat dog world" track near the end of Side 1..... wooowweeee! Proof of a genius.

The whole volume bumps major.

If this was released early dec 2013, then why does the front sticker say 2014? #Future music #conspiracy #cultmusic #mms6 #illuminati #play backwards #versace

^Man, as a kid that use to bug the shit out of me when the CDs that came out in the fourth quarter were usually marked with the next year's date. I was like 'Dre released 2001 in '99 not 2000!'

is it though? I couldn't find him saying it was going to be coming out in april back when you said that either. Maybe I'm bad with twitter.

@Jazzylude I agree (for the most part) - Pt. 2 and the CD/Digital is looking like MayÖ.

That's what Egonís Twitter feed says from 2 days ago.

Playing the 7" a lot lately. The Mad March (skipping drunk) makes more sense to me now than when I first heard it.

May is only 5 weeks away. No way we see it by then in my opinion. I obviously hope I'm wrong but these things take time and logistics and there isn't even any official date to move back yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped in May. They were spinning a test pressing a few months ago, according to Egon instragram.
And the Vol. 1 pre-order dropped sorta out of nowhere if I remember correctly, quite close to the release date. Still, probably just being hopeful.

Yessir, I was so surprised when Vol. 1 dropped with pratically no announcement. I have no doubt Vol. 2 will be on my platter by summer.

I am a dictator when it comes to music. I make my girl listen to my ish and then tell me what she likes or doesn't like. I convinced her that it probably won't work out as well if we don't have some similar interests or that she needs to at least here me out when I wanna talk about it. The last two nights we played all the MMS and built The Simpson's Lego house while smoking that good. Life is great. Hoping you guys are right about vol 2. I'm fiending.

Bought Rock Konducta about a month ago and haven't even removed the shrink wrap off of the sleeve. I can't be the only idiot who highly anticipates a record, buys it, and leave it to be as if it never existed, can I?
