Hey, Stones Throw, I was searching for some unreleated Dilla information online, and the search resulted in a link to Mos Def's Black on Both Sides album. When talking about the production on the record, it mentions that "The late Jay Dee also contributed, but his work was not included on the album's final draft." Is there any validity to this? I've never heard any reference to a Jay Dee and Mos Def collab before his passing and any remixes that he might of done, like the 'Can U C The Pride in The Panter' track

...forgive me for starting a new topic for this

There's a Black Star track produced by Jay Dee that appeared on the Hurricane soundtrack in 1999 called Little Brother.

They collaborated a few times before Dilla's passing, however, not on Mos' own projects. Off the top of my head: The Questions on Common's Like Water for Chocolate and Reminisce on Bilal's 1st Born Second.

The last Dilla beat Mos Def really used was History on Mos Def's Album "The Ecstatic". This probably doesn't help much lol. Little Brother is a sick track tho

I know about all of these tracks. What I'm looking to find out is if it was true that Dilla was working with Mos on music intended for BOBS - if so, considering that he doesn't have known production on the album, what were the tracks? I don't know the logistics of the aforementioned tracks. Without researching it, I suppose it is possible that one of these tracks could have been made during this era w/ the BOBS project in mind - who knows? Little music industry tidbits like these fascinate me
