Wig Master..talk about a perfect set up!

Ive always wanted my set up to have a nice view, helps me to get some ideas. I use to sit on my granpops roof and think of beats, listen to music, and come up with ideas.

Great set up man, hope to hear some beats from there

quick question.. I'm more of a hardware type guy coming from a 'bands' type background so that might explain my lack of knowledge

. I've been using Cubase for a couple of years now, which for me does, well everything. I always get confused reading threads like this where people are using a whole load of different bits of software, FL, reason this and that blah blah etc etc. Don't understand why you'd use loads of stuff when one programme will do. I'm obviously missing something somewhere, someone please enlighten me....

git- that's one of the reasons i use garageband--for me it does everything i need. you can't record into reason, that's why you can't use it alone

hov- don't let not having a nice view detract you from making beats man. i always work in the living room anyway, with no view and the tv on

not a student right now, but might be going back to grad school in the fall...

Try bouncing a stereo mix of your drums down to it to get that nice warm tape compression sound. I used to mess with that a bit with my reel-to-reel in Perth. Fucker is too heavy to move interstate though!

Yeah, I got that, it makes me feel I need to reinvent my whole process of making beats, it's dope as hell.
I managed to buy an old Dynachord Eminent mixer to it with a 4 head tape delay built in (for about 100 bucks), so i'm gettin really dubby with it.
I need monitors now, but need to get the money together, then I will freeze the buyings <_< It got a bit mad over the last couple of month.

And of course I need to learn them all.

yeah i co-sign with the reinventing how to make beats, i realized that when i got my usb-keyboard (ofcourse its not the same as the rhodes though but anyways)... that tape-delay thingie sounds good no doubt... haha yeah man take your time with the learning :D

thanks man, yeah its Firewire interface, i like it alot the build of the actual harware part of it is very sturdy and solid made, good quality knobs and whats more important is that it has the 8-ins and even the cubase LE (which comes with the interface) enables recording all 8-ins at the same time so there is no need for MIDI necessarily when recording from the MPC (2000XL for example)...

i recommend it no doubt, ive only had problems with the fucking Cubase as it seems that i cant really MIDI sync it, doesnt need to though cause it has the 8 ins, it has pahntom power switches on every pair of channels, 2 headphone outs and 8 outs, it also has 1 spare firewire in for external hd or something like that...

i remember seeing a pic of your lab from different angle before, seems dope though and you have alot of vinyl !!!

I have that same Casio MT 520. I got it along with two computers at a garage sale for seven bucks. smile.gif I hooked that bitch into Native Instrument Guitar Rig 3 to make some of the most awesome sounds. Well worth the few cents I spent.
