So this is where the magic happens..

Posted Image

2 Numark TT-500's and a Numark DXM01USB and my Korg ESX-1.
The synth is a Korg DW-6000, some kind of analogue/digital hybrid. Rarely use it, and it's not the coolest synthesizer in the world, but it can make some cool sounds (and I got it for cheap ).

Posted Image

Then there's a bunch of cables running along the wall to my computer and amp..

And my trusty MicroKorg.

I like it. I was using a 303 before, so it is much better. Haven't had really an experience with the mpc500 so I don't know how it compares to it, but the sequencer is probably better.

i actually have the black 07..

one of my boys just picked up an 08 though and it is dope. its a really good sounding mixer (i think it uses apogee converters). the eq's are on point and theres a toggle between eq on/off/isolator (comes in handy when youre mixing). there are no built in efx but is efx system is probably the most comprehensive you can find. there are two separate efx loops with full wet/dry control and you can apply them to individual channels.

my only gripe with it is the stock crossfader. imo, its garbage. it gets stiff really quick, the knob is shorter and stubbier feeling than traditional vestax knobs and sometimes static can be heard when opening and closing (i think its due to the digital lag space adjustment). my boy swapped it out with a pro-x fade and now that mixer is dooope.

there should be a review on skratchworx.com. peep it

damn... so many of us have SP303s... I bought mine before knowing madlib used it. at the time I thought all he used was the sp1200... I dont like the 404........ I'm sure I've voiced my opinion already too many times on the 404....

I used to loooooove sampling from tapes before I went to the school and became all mix perfectionist....... now its hard for me to make beats cuz I over analyze the sonic quality

really?

damn. that's abit shit. i have to clean mine every 3 or 4 months but never had any trouble with stems snapping or any ish like that. it happened to my mate not long ago, and i think we had the same type - one that goes in the vestax mixers, he uses an 06, i'm on an 07.

im curious about those Pro X Fade ones though.

i'm bored of the beat battles, lets get some DJ battles up in here init..
