It started in Brooklyn during the late 1960's, then carried over to Queens in the early 70's, made it's way to Harlem and then landed in The Bronx in the mid 70's where it became publicized by corporate media. It's time for that corporate driven lie to die and let the truth shine bright like the Sun.

I wish I knew more details but I don't. These are the links one of my Facebook followers sent to me. I'll ask them and see if I can get any additional info.

This is a priority for me to watch. I love history and documentaries in general, but a doc of the "REAL" history of hip hop? SIGN ME UP!!!

Needs to cover Kool Herc, and sedgwick 1520, think that is the moment it kicked off. but this does look good though.

Nah way way way way before that, think about chewing berries and spit spraying on cave walls = graf
Performing dances that were free to a beat around a fire = breaking
Reciting street poetry, list goes on, even down to the two words hip and hop, were two words meant to form one to become the title of a movement, yes it was needed and happened, just needed Brooklyn to be built, Brooklyn is like a womb for giving birth to music that is just true, doesn't matter what genre, it will always be hardcore.
