Am honored yo this group has been on that steady incline and am consistantly impressed by the level of talent in these tracks ,, WORD

Liked how last weeks battle challenged everyone ,, just like the old saying goes practice makes perfect so NO QUANTIZE Again Muhahahhhahahah, unless of course you dont play ur beats out then what ev click away,, Clickin is OK

Rule #2
Beat must have some form of a break down, let the beat breath

Rule #3

Have some fking fun
  • Go to SAMPLE , you will find the sample mp3 located there for download.
  • Flip the sample and make a beat (see below for Production Rules)
  • Upload your beat to the STMB Group

    Production rules
  • 2 minute time limit
  • flip the chosen sample any way you want
  • outside drums and bass are allowed
  • outside keys/synths ALLOWED
  • no acapellas
  • vocal samples/skits are allowed
  • cuts/scratches are permitted

gotta love the no quantize rule, great practice for everybody. i tried voting last week but had trouble registering with stmb. everyone straight up smashed it with 288 what an amazing first week. congrats to jondi, loved that jazzy feel.

can't wait to get home n download the new sample, time for another inspiring week!

For the record I pretty much try to jack OSØ's style and I think it's a compliment when ever someone tells me my beat sounds like OSØ's (which no one has yet unfortunately). So this week I plan to wait for him to post, download his beat, and then repost it with maybe an added hi hat.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

i think it means breaking down the beat to its elements as in - just the bass for a while, or just som drums, or just the sample and then build up again.

So..... lol

Recorded the track, first verse; first mc was dope. but the second verse ;(lol second mc) was lacking. so, in keeping with Rule #3, i decided to do a rough ass mixdown of the joint, post it to the group and humbly ask any volunteers to step up to the plate and give me that knockout verse I NEED :D :D.

word ! yeah mans a break down , lettin the beat breath mon.. Weather u drop the drums for a bar or do a qwik "mute" or whatev.
Can be used as much or little as u want.

ANd yeah mon go head and program your drums just try show some form of human groove in ur beat g

,, had a busy weekend im a try to bang out a beat 2night,, no promises tho .. ha
