saw a little article in uk indie/rock mag q magazine about mf doom saying after his european tour he couldnt get backin the states and has been living in london for two years and he is 'done with the u.s' is that true, imnot normally botherd about such fanboy trivia but this had me wondering

Either way he isnt releasing new music so what diff would it make? He's been in 'exile' for a while now...

makes no difference i just found it intresting that he has been living in london for two years, according to the article he's done quite a bit of recording whilst being here mainly that 'keys to the kuffs' album and some stuff with beth gibbons from portishead (that might be on the jj doom joint though) and erm with damon albarn again

Well maybe its a good thing he's in Europe...Maybe the change in location is what's needed to release new music.

Seeing how he's one of the least fan friendly artists in the industry its not really that surprising that no one really cares enough about his whereabouts to figure out he got stuck in Europe.

Now it's starting to make sense, being with Lex and all, not doing shows in the States anymore... And Shakey, just wondering which issue of Q was that article in?

Damn, just looked at Lex's website to see that DOOM's coming back to Australia, touring with Ghostface in June: http://lexrecords.co...lian-tour-2012/. I thought last year's shows were a once in a lifetime sort of thing, but who's complaining?

I remember back in the day there were rumors he couldn't perform outside the US cuz he wasnt really a US citizen...guess it was true talk

Anyway some friends of mine tried to get him to perform a few months ago, the whole town was hyped up, full of posters and cats from all over coming out of their hives for the first time....and he just canceled at the same day of the show....and never gave back the money they have already paid em...I thought he quit doin that shit ciz he gotta support he's kids and what not - come on SON!

Ah yeah, it's been that long since the Camden show? I remember hearing stuff about this a little bit after his Brixton show. I'm pretty sure he's been making a killing out here though. What can I say? DOOM's home & Grimm can't leave the State of New York, the US is quite a restricting place...

This makes sense - Born Like This comes out, it looks like activity is starting up again, then it all goes quiet again - if he's had to move his wife and kids over or is here on his own, either way it'd be hard to get back into music quickly. At least a new record is out this year, not that I have any hopes for it.

^ yeah but it's been like 95% done for years now, it can't possibly be that much longer :P

but seriously I wasn't too hyped for the album after hearing all of the leaked tracks. I'm sure if and when it drops I'll be psyched as hell but I keep going back and forth between being excited for new DOOM material and not. Motherfucking Doom!!
