So....anybody wanna talk warriors? I wonder...can curry turn into a true point guard? Or monta? Or klay?? Looking mighty bad now that linsanity is going on in ny. But I think our guards have a ton of potential

The guards are good, but until the team can commit defensively, they're just gonna keep treading sub-.500 waters. They can score just fine, being 4th in the league in PPG currently, but that 28th in points allowed is whats killing them. Once they tighten up that defense (which I don't see happening under Mark Jackson), they could be a 7th or 8th seed in the west.

i agree with both of you.
monta and curry are some great guards (not sure if they can co-exist), nate robinson was a very solid pick-up and also david lee can ball. but they need get away from that small-ball-philosophy if they really want to win. i doubt this will happen under mark jackson, even though he seems to be a players coach and doing pretty good for a first year

Just an unlucky year. At the beginning of the season, everyone was just using the "they're out of shape" excuse. But a lot of these injuries have nothing to do with conditioning and are just unfortunate accidents (i.e. Ginobli, Horford). It is a little weird how about 50% of the starting centers are out right now, though.

We're finally about 33 games deep, which is the halfway point, so I gotta ask you guys who you think is taking it this year. Looking more in favor of the veteran teams than it was last year.

Bump.

What do you guys think of this year's Dunk Contest field / the new rules? I think the one round format is a pretty good idea. Kind of forces everyone to do their best dunks instead of holding them out for the second round (looking at you, DeRozen.)

I dunno about the dunk contest but I do know the dubs got snubbed for the three point contest. Don't they have like four of the top twenty three shooters in the league??!!? Bullshit

Yeah, thats some shit right there. Putting Joe Johnson in over Curry, Rush (who's leading in percentage, I think), or Ellis? Bullshit. And I know Jones is the defending champ and everything, but I honestly haven't even noticed him on the floor during any games this year. He can't be getting more than 8 minutes a game. Regardless, Joe is injuried, so maybe they'll sub one of them in. They would be crazy not too.

They just put Jeremy Evans in over Shumpert for the dunk contest, too. Its gonna be wild now with him, George, and Air Bud.

man. that slam dunk contest sucks more from year to year. i hate all those gimmicks, dunkin over cars, motorcycles, ... it doesn't have to be the big names, but keep the focus on dunking, not the show

Yeah, gimmicks killed it. Made me even forget about the two decent dunks that happened.

since this seems to be more a gs warriors than an nba-thread: i wonder about the direction they're going in. the bogut-trade wasn't bad, even tough i think monta doesn't fit in milwaukee alongside jennings. but for me holding on to klay thompson in fantasy seems to pay of

I think its just because 3 out of 5 people who posted on this thread are Warriors fans. So who's gonna be left out in the west this season? Figured the Suns were done, but they seem to be pushing for that 8th seed. Can't see the Kings, Warriors, or Blazers being involved this year. The other 12 teams still have a shot though.

but for me holding on to klay thompson in fantasy seems to pay of

I'm shocked you had him before the trade. Your league must be deep or you must have been 3-point desperate haha.

nah, neither of both. i don't play the yahoo-fantasy.its another, german, hoster and so the rules are a bit different. you have a certain amount of salary to spend buying players for your team. everybody can buy every player, you just have to be under the cap. depending how the players perform their salary rises or falls and so do you in the overall-rankings

its http://crossover-online.de only german and you can just register through a short period of time, righ before the start of every season.
just for the fun of it, my current team looks like this:

Guards: john wall, brandon jennings, ty lawson, jeff teague, evan turner, goran dragic, gerald green
Forwards: kevin durant, paul george, gordon hayward, corey maggette, klay thompson
Center: marcin gortat, nikolas pekovic, deandre jordan

think i have to drop deandre next, for dirk maybe (cause i got some money in the bank)

Him and Manzel. Cleveland will be the sporting teams for at least 5 years. That is if both play well. Which they should.

Glad he's coming home! Born and raised in Cleveland and Lebron is the ONLY thing to be proud of now...I know we've seen mixed responses about his return but that's expected, I guess.
