Hat's off guys. This is such a great idea and defitiely worthwhile for the price. For only $10 a month anyone can sign up to have all of ST's new releases instantly e-mailed to their inbox. I for one will definitely be subscribing and can't wait for all the extra goodies you'll be sending our way.

Dope.
Can you sign up for one month at a time? Like "I know this is going to be released next month, I sure would like that."

Don't think it works that way. You are sent monthly downloads to their new albums. I think it's a neat way to distribute their new stuff, I will probably sign up once I have a job again lol

Got it. Minimal wave tapes is crazy. Homeboy Sandman is sick. MED instrumentals are dope. $10! Revolutionary.

Good price, but why no LOSSLESS option? Mp3's are like an orange with no fruit inside. Give me the whole thing, dammit!

I don't know the liklihood of this, but say there are no releases one month (or just a 12" or two.) Would we still be charged for that month?

I pay for Spotify already for 9.99/month. What is drip's service like otherwise and is it as good. If not I want to know if they will still put music on Spot... curious.

Hey everyone,

I'm one of the founders of drip.fm. I just wanted to say thanks for the support, and answer a few of the questions you've posted here.

The service is an automatic monthly billing. If you only wanted to pop in periodically, you could cancel and signup again, but you would only have access to what gets delivered while you're a member. So if you missed a few months, when you came back the music that came out while you were gone, would not be available. This is not like Netflix or Spotify where you pay a fee for all-you-can-eat streaming.

As for not getting billed on months when there are no new releases, I can speak from experience with the Ghostly Music Service. What we do is try and fill in slow months with back catalog and exclusive content. Sometimes it's an alternate mix, sometimes we give music from our artists that were never officially released, and sometimes we give music from new artists we're working with that haven't released yet. It's impossible for us to give something new every single week, but we've been live for over a year and have never not pushed something through the system in a month.

I hope this clears up some of the questions, and definitely let me know if there's anything else on your mind.

Miguel

Will we be getting ST subsidary releases as well? Like Atomic Forest or Dimlite type stuff? Or will it only be the Stones Throw releases?

This is a subscription service strictly for Stones Throw Records. We carry quite a few other labels on the Stones Throw online store, but these are not subsidiaries or other labels in name only, they're entirely different labels. The Stones Throw Digital Discography will carry all Stones Throw digital releases only.

I'm doing this without taking a second thought on any repercussions that could possibly come out of this decision. Maybe.. gimme some time.

Do anyone know if Madlib music will be available? Seems like good price. How do artists make money for so low price?

Great deal I think, I don't buy or listen to digital files, if I did, I would ride for this!
