Picked that up a couple years ago when it dropped. My only piece of Damu wax but a mighty good one indeed! 'K. Murdock's Interlude' is my jam.

Picked up an original CMR pressing of this for $9 the other night. Shit is selling for some crazy prices on Discogs and Amazon.

Then I found this one last night:

Look at those phones and how can you have an album called Checkmate without any visual reference to chess on the cover? The artistic merit escapes me.

There's gonna be a time, and probably soon, when all pen and pixel ish is gonna be priced out of control high. There's been a steady demand for the last few years, on certain titles. I heard once that Canada had (has?) a huge pen and pixel collecting community.

For sure man. I'm already seeing the high prices when I go out digging in bins. The worst part is, I had a majority of these Cash Money albums when I was in middle school. Then I went through my classic hip hop phase in high school and traded all them joints for some vinyls at the local shops. Kicking myself now.

I just ordered all of the back issues that I still needed that Wax Poetics had in stock (this one included). I started reading the magazine with issue 39, and now they're about to release issue 50 and after buying tons of back issues I only need to track down 7 issues to have to whole run. Hopefully my search doesn't take too long.

Dude you should check out the Wax Poetics online store. They found a bunch of back issues in their warehouse and are selling them. That Dilla issue was selling for $30 ($25 if you opted for the Public Enemy cover, which I did), that's going to be the cheapest way for you to get back issues (at least the ones they have in stock). A lot of the back issues are still on sale there for cover price.

WP is such a mixed love item. There isn't many other publications that do what they do full time though. But it's really the first series (up to when they revamped their look) that is fun to read and has better articles. I see that they are revamping their look once again. Looks like they're aiming at getting younger heads into by having a issue with Frank Ocean on one of the covers. At some point I'll probably buy the first 2 anthologies and be settled with that.

how do you like it ? i picked it up also, i think it's the weakest part of the series. to much electronic shit going on and they should have def stayed to beats only, no rapping.

I only listened once, so I won't give a full verdict. But from my first listen it doesn't sound as good as the previous Hi Hat Clubs. It's not a bad LP at all, but the other volumes are more enjoyable and outstanding. Gonna listen to this more oftently, but the beats sound good nontheless

Hmmm just checked out that mix on youtube and it's the album version. So I'm assuming they never released the video mix on vinyl or CD.

This is the version that plays on the bonus mix cd:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfW69PKpsPI

Is that what you're referring to as the video version?

Yeah I got Kilawatt 1.5 too and was really worried when I saw that Coming Soon list. I know I'm going to need all of those and it's really going to hurt my wallet. How much do you think that box set is going to cost?
