Anyone use this sampler? Opinions on it? Mates just inherited one but has no use for it, worth buying? Always wanted an mpc/sampler but never had the cash for it, don't whether to take the chance and buy it off him for cheap.

All advice welcome.....

Always wanted one, an sp808ex. Has that D-Beam and multitracking on faders. That's pretty cool.,

I used to own one (not the EX model). It was actually pretty good. Sound quality kinda reminded me of the 303. I agree, scabs ... I wish I could get my hands on an EX model.

Does this have that vinyl sim that the 202 and 303 has?

303 or an mpc, and a computah will do it all plus more. But if you can find one sub $300, it still is pretty good. I would jump on it if it were.

I paid $100 for the one I had from a pawn shop ... I sold it for $300 and bought a Roland Alpha Juno (which I then sold to stack up on a bunch of VST instruments). I kinda miss it though ... It was kind of complex for no reason at all but that gritty sound is classic
