Masta Ace mentioned yesterday on his Berlin Show that he has an Album dropping soon which is entirely produced by Doom. Anybody heard of that?

I thought it was the former, but it looks like DOOM is cooking something up, whether it be new beats or some verses, for the album.

Pretty much agree 100% - even if they weren't Special Herbs beats I would agree. I'd be wayyyy more psyched if they were both rhyming on each track.

Why would any of us not be an Ace fan? He's one of the greatest. Although I gotta say I'm not the biggest fan of his flow/cadence the last 10 years... he sounds like a black Eminem now.

Definitely agree with both those statements. The sad thing is you can tell how much early Em was biting Ase's style, the Teacher is jocking the Disciple has me smh.

Masta Ace has been saying in pretty much all of his interviews about this album that he was only using Special Herbs beats. It doesn't make sense to judge this album as anything other than what it is and what it was always intended to be, namely Ace rapping over the Special Herbs beats.

In that respect, I'm looking forward to hearing this record. It's always a treat to hear new Masta Ace verses.

And on the same track a verse by Big Daddy Kane (haven't heard anything from him in a long while)! I like DOOM's verse here, years after Geedorah over the same track, it's interesting to hear how he's changed.

Downloaded the leak, and the Who You Think I Am track is by far the best. The other ones are pretty mediocre, they're not bad, but I had I hopes for this collab.

Guess I gotta stop doing that.

P.S. Beatnuts & Alkaholiks have to come through now, I can't be disappointed by another great team up again, it's getting old.

Seriously, that cover is terrible. I'm one to judge a book/album by its cover and if I wasn't such a huge Ace fan I'd probably avoid this at all costs.

Maybe the Man's sick of it too, them Herbs. More support for JJ DOOM (from Jneiro's interview with Clash Magazine):

Jarel tells Clash: “It made complete sense that eventually we would hook up - we came from the same school of hip-hop - both of us make the effort to keep things fresh. DOOM told me he was really happy about this project, because it wasn’t just him putting out [DOOM produced] Special Herb stuff. This is completely new, fresh - the first new DOOM in a long time.”

In the Frank 151 interview DOOM himself says, "Expect a new series" (of Herbs). Should we hold our breath?
