No way, in any world, is vv better than mv. It's all a matter of opinion i know.... So sorry for the extreme superlative. I don't mean it. But Christ madvillainy is good. It's soooo fucking good. It's so good that it gives me goosebumps right around "no no no enough". I think it's the only post golden age hip hop joint that should firmly be required listening in hip hop 101. Ok continue talking about jjdoom sorry for the tangent

Yeah we all love MV but I love VV just as much. Lyrically they are equal for me, musically is another story but the beats compliment the type of sci-fi rymes laid out on that album.

just talked to a lex rep, they said they're "SUPER keen" on getting the t-shirts some US distribution, but that we'll have to wait a bit while they figure that out.

Added Wash Your Hands to Rap Genius yesterday: http://rapgenius.com...ur-hands-lyrics

Uh, she got a cool body, damn she got a cool body

What I'm a tell you what to do with your hands for?
Much less your dirty ass shoes on the dancefloor?
What a poor slob
Ain't wash his hands after peein' wound up touched the doorknob
What's your job at the pool party?
Drunk dude's spittin' up, earlin', droolin', snotty

Ooh, she got a cool body, ooh, she got a cool body, yup

Bet you wouldn't say that hour ago
When she applied the itch cream to her camel toe
Shoulda kept her limpin' ass home
Santa Marta's dangerous as those who's glass chrome
Even worse-- it's the gift that keep givin'
Depends on after how many sleeps ya keep livin'
Come on G! It's only me
Tryna stay from bein' sick. Why I gotta be OCD?
Well, wash my balls and detour
Or leap from 30,000 feet on a free fall
You so fine sista
What I gotta do to get your bovine visna
Niggas draw heat
Up in the club a why ya stink of raw meat
I'm just sayin', wash ya hands fam
Before ya put your nasty thumbs in her underpants, damn
You like the way she shake her back area?
It's like a sex machine that make bacteria
Now that's a real funny business
Mad raw filthy fingers stickin' dirty money in it
Shit, before I get to stabbin' it
At least know her habits and what's in her medicine cabinet
Villain brings his own mug to the bar
And wore gloves till he go back to the car
Hey! Don't get cracked in the jaw
We tried to bring an end to the black on black war
The real enemy is microscopic
There go they trojan horse, you talkin' bout "drop it"
All them top models
Wanna come over here, chillin', pop bottles
Fine-- I take mine to the dome
You could get your own and take ya funky ass home

WHAT a WEIRD fucking DOOM album... goddamn. gonna take a bunch of listens before I can formulate a proper opinion. MF is on point, it's the beats and the combo of the two that are gonna take a while to wrap my cranium around. but banished and the og mix of rhymin slang have already grown on my since original listens, so I'll reserve judgement.

But was there ever a more superfluous damon albarn collab? i mean... they could have just sampled him.

Only track i'm not keen on is Bout the Shoes (which is a shame as I thought we were finally going to discover if he found those "Gold Tan Ellesses").

Love the rest on second listen. I think the random instrumentals at the end of some tracks ruin the flow somewhat, and the Kujo track should have been longer with a doom verse (espesh as it seemed like a case of "Still Kaps when you spell the man name"), but these are minor quibbles :) Good album!

Had a once through at work which isn't the ideal situation but upon first listen I'm digging it. Doom, Khujo and JJ should've traded verses on Still Kaps. Back in the day when I heard Scienz Of Life going back and forth with DOOM on Sorcerers? Oh man!

Both Damon and Beth's guest spots were very underwhelming and quite frankly pointless.

I'm excited to give this a real attentive listen tonight.

I'm glad their cameos didn't ruin the flow, which is pretty erratic, in a good way.

I had to retune my ears with this album, and by "Winter Blues", I was on their page. It's a good album - VERY busy. Seems like there ar a lot of little jewels tucked that will make more sense as time goes on. Definitely an interesting first listening experience. A bit "WTF"-ish at times, even with that, lots of good stuff here

I like the album and probably more so after a couple more listens. The only track I'm not really feeling is 'Wash Your Hands', not really a good ending track to me. 'GMO' is probably my favorite right now, but that'll probably change.

This album is mentally ill and isn't going to attract people that lack patience - there's too much to digest and the reference points are warped. Every single track has grown on me a lot over the past 24 hours, some ridiculous shit is going on in this LP, the way it flows from track to track is demented.

My only real criticism is DOOM's verses are too short on a bunch of the tracks.

Just posted Winter Blues: http://rapgenius.com...er-blues-lyrics

Melanin' on melanin'
Your dude need to recharge off your velvet skin
Make 'em feel like, like twelve again
Soon as you give the green light I'm delvin' in
Melanin' on melanin'
Your fella need to recharge off your velvet skin
Make me feel like, like I'm twelve again
Soon as you give the green light I'm delvin' in

Learn to balance, it's real tricky
Like The Incredible Hulk turned back to Bill Bixby
Fuck masturbating, I'd rather wait than
Keep enough of that good stuff for the trading in
Each and every day making cash with Satan
Can't eat can't sleep, it's exasperatin'
Mad like burning off
All he needs is one warm hug to keep from turning off
I'm sure you could use a boost
Left the hooptie parked in hood with the screws loose
Bust the coupé out the driveway, stash house
Scooped you up, hit the highway and mash out
Matte-black like melanin on melanin
Of course the butter soft, black leather trim, set of rims
Let 'er purr, not a scratch on it
Spin it back to the garage and put a latch on it
I need a handful of melanin
Feelin' like the lambswool beard on your tender skin
It might give you a shock initially
As we reconnect up the flow, electricity
The phenomenal melanin bio-polymer
Follow with a glass a merlot, I could swallow her
Eat 'er up like a SnackWell®
We could live forever like Henrietta Lacks cells
Melanin on melanin
Ask me where the hell I been soon as I felt her skin
Holdin' hands, feet in the sand-- grounded
Starin' in them pretty brown eyes-- astounded
I'll share some solar power
If you let me pound it we could go for hours
And then again in the shower
Left her leg tremblin'-- recharged the melanin

Girl you got it
Me too let that show
This is how you know
That's that glow
Feel it yo
Love that glow
Even so
Feel it yo

This is how you know

Album is dope as fuck... When I heard the singles (Banished and Rhymin' Slang) released on Youtube, they didn't make sense. Listening to the entire joint all the way through though, the way JJ pieced the album together, it gives them a much needed context between the other tracks and they grew on me a ton. I've played this stream like 10 times over the last 24 hours.

Dawg Friendly might be the dopest beat on the album, shame DOOM doesn't rhyme over it.

im not a huge fan of the beats.....yet. so far im giving this a 7.5 compared to older material.

I do really like how the whole record is about his life in London, missing family, trying to blend in, bad food. You can just hear the stress in his voice, it's like a mix between born like this and MFood.

Im sure it will grow on me over time.

I don't remember if the comment was made on this board but someone said something along the lines of the Frank151 Chapter 48: DOOM book being a great read and how it was really inspirational - - I ordered Keys To The Kuffs through StonesThrow on the strength of that comment.

Anyways, it seems like most of the negative criticism this album is getting is on Jneiro Jarel's production so if it hasn't been done yet, prepare for a myriad of remix's.

As far as Doom's flow, those commenting on how different it is express a lack of familiarity with the artist that is Dumile - - his main trait is one of constant change and conversion. One could argue that, regardless of moniker, all Dumile albums are very distinct in production and vocal features.

This is a Doom album with NEW material...not like the joint record with Masta Ace. Appreciate this record for what it is, AND what it isn't. His ability to craft projects with such concept and detail is second to none - - Please respect that.

after a bunch o listens... I'd agree with dope as fuck. The concept is as rock solid as any of his more concepty albums as far as I'm concerned: DOOM the expatriate, wandering the streets of the UK alone, stranger in a strange land, isolated and turning paranoid, obsessing about germs and conspiracy theories. Though I guess it helps to be versed in the backstory.

What's weird about the album isn't DOOM's flow, which to me sounds like a natural progression (except maybe Banished, which is kinda a new thing), it's the production, but upon repeated listens that's just because it's VERY dense. It's not even that far out from DOOM's more typical beat style, which I originally was thinking, it just has a distinctive, overwhelming flavor (i guess JJ flavor). I think the production is cohesive as hell, just like the concept, and really makes for a great all-the-way-through listen, again just like the best DOOM albums.

Comparing DOOM albums is dumb, even though it's hard not to look back on the collabs of MV and Dangerdoom when listening to this. The three albums are so wildly different in intent; the mouse and the mask is like a party album compared to the other two, full of catchy-as-fuck beats (dangermouse was seriously on point imo), catchy choruses, big name features, etc... whereas Key to the Kuffs is like... Born Like This / VV style introspection, better listened to by your lonesome driving in the car.

Guests... slight disappointment. Wish damon could have come through with a better goddamn contribution (november has come still holds up strong, for me anyway). GMO is a dope cut, even though it changes into a completely different beat at the end for another, disjointed verse. Could almost do without Bout the Shoes (though it sorta reminded me of how Eye functioned on MV). and Still Kaps kinda wrecks the flow of the thing for me without a DOOM verse, Khujo's seems sorta disjointed from the rest of the thing.

but that's my peace.

Oh, and 2 new interviews: SPIN & FACT MAG
