Looks like DOOM is going to perform Winter Blues on BBC Radio 4 tomorrow

http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/b01lsqkn

Any UK heads have a way of recording this? Would be easy to get it from BBC iPlayer but they don't show this on the schedule, plus those outside UK wouldn't be able to hear it through iPlayer anyway.

love the live instrumentation. HAHAHA at DOOM's off key singing. weirdo.
In the DOOM Frank book the interviewer mentioned some singing in winter blues, guess this is what he meant... Hope it's just slightly better on the record.

You didn't hear/see the collab with Robert Glasper at Montreux last year? That was pretty fresh too.

^^^ I just don't know. I think I may lean towards the dave steik remix on this one. DOOM's verses just seem tighter on that for whatever reason. maybe I'll see the light.

But is this the first DOOM song with a chorus since the mouse and the mask?

I like it. I liked the remix as well but I think this fits better with the tone of the rest of the record. Ordered the CD & Vinyl too but I wonder when this will leak??

melanin is what causes skin colour and protects us from the sun... white people have less melanin, black people have more. So yeah "melanin on melanin" just means skin on skin i believe...

Doom said: It’s a two-prong approach I took on that one. It’s a love song for sure. It’s kind of like when you missing your wife, missing your children, missing your girl, anything that’s in your life that you miss at the time—your moms. It’s really based on the women in your life. And another point of view, it’s based on melanin. Everything has melanin. Even plants have chlorophyll; it’s like a cousin to melanin. Melanin you find in humans and animals. It’s what shields us from the sun and rejuvenates our cells so they don’t crack. "

having more carbon or what people call melanin does protect us (darker people) from the sun, but for people of color it can also work against us and block the needed amounts of vitamin D we need from the sun which is the reason People of color are the leaders in cancer so make sure you guys and girls of color get your vitamin D levels right its a life saver

Ehh.. reviews are reviews. I never really pay much attention when they're about one of my favorite artists, even the worst DOOM album is still a dope album in my eyes.

True True. The BBC one caught my eye, so i'm hoping the reason the others aren't as impressed is due to the UK inflences in the soudscapes. Being from the UK this is what interests me the most and i've certainly liked what i've heard so far :)

I was hoping to get one with the pre-order. Wishful.

Damn! as somebody who already is digging the packaging those are both fresh as hell and expensive as hell! 40 bucks plus international shipping for me... goddamn. hopefully they're not too limited for me to take some time to think/stack cheddar...

Yeah it'd be nice if an American retailer could offer those as well. No way I'm dropping $40 on a T-Shirt. Maybe if I was wiping my ass with dollar bills!

No lyric book for Key To The Kuffs? :( I was disappointed Born Like This didn't have one either.

Yeah I check that site out a lot when I have a spare 5 mins. Sometimes it's funny when you know what a lyric is about (due to the artist mentioning it or whatever), and how someone else has interpreted it utterly wrong, lol.
