you guys are crazy, Mm..Food has no filler. you can't argue with an album that has like 10+ classic DOOM verses. The rest is just bonus, the sound collage shit is dope, come on.

Madlib should remix the entire JJ DOOM album. He's gotten great results before with the Madvilliany remix album and MMS1 with Guilty Simpson.

Yeah, I dunno about how good a Madlib remix would be, it seemed Doom was def rapping in a specific way to match the crazy JJ beats. Don't think Madlibs beats would match that sorta style, I could be wrong though

I agree with this. Plus I'm not a huge fan of Madlib's remixes, I'd rather hear some new verses on his new beats.

I just recently copped the first "Madlib remixes" on wax. it's like the most cohesive, well-flowing soundscape. so dusty. so genius. I would kill for a full LP of Gangstarr remixes from The Madlib.

Which pressing did you get? I can't remember but I think the first and second pressings have like one song that's different. I eventually found both but I only had the second pressing for a few years.

picked up the first pressing. Yeah, there's a remix of Universal Magnetic on the repress I think, but I'm not sweating it too hard. Though I might be missing out!

According to the end of this article we don't have MV2 yet because PBW pissed off DOOM :(

http://m.pitchfork.c...-madvillainy/2/

Couldn't they just release the record on Rappcats? lol

oh boy... I thought maybe PBW did something shady or something... all he did was let fans know MV2 might be happening soon.

It is crazy to me that MV1 has only sold 150,000 copies.

the villain might be pissed right now but at least we know something's progressed, could he really stay butthurt forever and not let anyone hear it?

only when we have all stopped posting, talking, thinking about MV2 will the Madvillain creep out from his cave and unceremoniously toss it to the dogs.

Anybody heard the Meat Grinder version that has "9/11" instead of "10/11"? I don't remember it being like that on the cassette/demo... could be wrong.

Definitely a better read than I was expecting. Only borderline masturbatory, though many of the quotes are cobbled together from old interviews.

I can't help but think that one of the reasons DOOM's keeping it under wraps is that the first one's so critically lauded, hailed as such a masterwork. Whenever Madlib is asked about it he practically always says "Don't expect the same thing, it's a continuation" etc., which has always sounded mildly defensive to me.

I thought one of the coolest parts was the actual breakdown of the budget and payments involved in making and releasing the album.

Sure is 10/11. I tried to check if Meat Grinder was part of the scans from DOOM's notebook I remember seeing a few years back, but I can't find them for the life of me. Operation Lifesaver was one of the pages for sure, there was a little doodle of DOOM's masked face too.

Does anyone still have em?

EDIT: Found one, and it just so happens to be Meat Grinder:

10/11

There were more though...and not exactly his notebook after all, but still the Villain's handwriting.
