^ Dude, its a video from like 15 years ago around the time of Operation: Doomsday. The person who posted it it was joking when he referred to MV2. The butt of the joke is DOOM is sleeping instead of actually recording tracks for MV2.

^ lol, i agree with Geech. i mean, i'm all for gay rights and stuff (i've had arguments on these boards with people about it), but at the same time i don't particularly care for gays more than anyone else. when it comes down to it, i don't give a shit what they do-- so it doesn't matter to me in issues like marriage and rights because it should just be assumed that they'd have the same rights as anyone else.
likewise, when it comes to tracks like "Batty Boyz", i don't think there should be much controversy surrounding it. any rational human-being can tell the clear differences between DOOM joking about beating up an ambiguously gay duo of superheroes and people like Fred Phelps who seriously condone violence and hatred towards a targeted group of people. that PC shit has got to stop though, it's not helping anyone...the fact that there is any controversy around a song with a premise so absurdly stupid is just a sign of how ridiculous the times have gotten.

there they go, feminizing men again... the kids will be kids. in the past, other rappers have glamorized even more destructive behavior than wearing a dress.

so wait PBW does an instagram shot (since deleted) of an e-mail from doom saying his part on madvillian 2 is pretty much done and stmb hasnt gone mental? or am i missing out on about 200 threads talking about it?

After taking that post down, he put up another saying "April Fool's" and commented about "I know I'm 10 days late but still wanted to fool you", or something along those lines. Fake email photo, PBW just stirring the pot.
Not sure why, got my hopes up, then thought it was funny.

10 and 20 or 25 anniversary is worth a nod. 15 is "meh".

Dudes were making a bit of noise recently about the 10 year anniversary of Madvillain. Apparently this last week or so it was 15 years since Operation: Doomsday dropped but nothing much has been said about that. I still think it's one of DOOM's best albums and has stood the test of time pretty damn well and dare I say it was a bit of a game-changer in hip hop. In my humble opinion, Doomsday's a lot better than a lot of hip hop that has come before and after it.
i would agree with that ^ but i also would add that imho my contemporary ears have sorta come to expect a bit more variation from my beats than from what i hear on O:D...still an amazing album, but i gotta admit after 3+ minutes of listening to "Red and Gold" or something my brain starts to drift from hearing the same 4-bar loop over and over and over and over and over and over and....................
(fyi "red and gold" is still one of my fav tracks though lol)
and yeah, it's unfair to judge an album retroactively based on where music is now-- so i usually am able to get past the fact that a lot of the beats get repetitive on the album and still enjoy me the shit out of some Metal Face DOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM.

I am too attached to Operation Doomsday. MMFOOD as well. My love affair will never end anytime soon, either.
I still remember removing Operation Doomsday from the record sleeve. I think I listened to it for weeks at a time. Innovative.

PBW tweets DOOM email on 4/15 then deletes it, calling it a 2-week late april fools joke, then Egon tweets that he's meeting up with the villain on 4/20... Maybe things are actually happening. Madlib has been playing the UK a hell of a lot, he was probably with D and E last weekend.
It's one of the longest running jokes in hip hop history but I just keep falling for it. Sad thing is, on the day it drops there will be little gained from 10 years of obsessing over it except maybe that we've heard a percentage of the new tracks years in advance. And is that really a boon? and what will there be left in its wake? I think its safe to say there will never be a third album at this rate, so the next one will most likely be the last full length these guys do together. Mortality is looming on me. How many albums does DOOM have left in him? how many years do I have left to live!?
