Same here. Best MV 'remix' since Four Tet's Great Day Remix IMO. Would love a collab album from these two :D

i just want a full show where they do all of Madvillainy. it's almost perfect for the whole jazz setting, and that seems like Doom at his finest, performance wise. i'd pay any amount of money to see that with a nice dinner and shit

"Coming soon"

Last year DOOM was in Melbourne (Australia) the same night that Glasper was playing as part of a jazz festival. DOOM was on first, before Chino XL and Ghostface (very uncharacteristic, and for that reason I missed most of his set) and after rocking the party he departed in a jalopy, leaving real early. Though it could never be confirmed, I wonder if he went to see and perhaps even got on stage at Glasper's show. That being said, after DOOM's set at the Forum there was this funny looking black dude with a beard on the mixing boards that I couldn't help but wonder about...

DOOM musta looked him up after the Red Bull interview back in '11, coz when someone asked him if he'd collab with FlyLo he appeared to not know who he was, lol.

What did it sound like? Any quotables you caught?

Ahh, my mistake. When dude asked him if there were any producers out there, like FlyLo, whom he would like to work with, DOOM said something along the lines of; "I don't really listen to enough hip hop to know who is who". He must have been generalising rather than referring to Lotus particularly.

Would be interested to hear what this would sound like. The first reaction would be on a VV vibe but perhaps that's too obvious. Have you heard the track JJ?

Doom is going to be featured on Child of Lov's debut album on a track called Owl. Hasn't been officially released yet but there's a leak floating around online. The track's dope.

EDIT to avoid having a double post:

First time I listened to this Owl track from Child of Lov I wasn't sure...but knew that, as usual, it takes a bit of time for a DOOM track to sink in.

Like it, dope track & very different.

I'm really not feeling this clams casino track. I wonder if DOOM is gearing up for some kind of collaboration project with multiple producers or something.

I'm guessing it will be more of what we saw last year via LEX. Maybe just an EP or a couple one off 12".

aside from the Born Like This album, everything Doom's done with Lex is pretty awful. This Clams track is one of the worst.

I don't know what you guys are(n't) smoking, but the JJ DOOM project (which is actually what this thread was dedicated to for a good 12 or 13 pages) is freaking excellent. Yes it takes some time to grow on but that's any project that the Villain puts out.

but i was expecting much more..

This first rule of being a DOOM fan is to expect nothing from the Villain. That way you'll actually enjoy his songs instead of trying to make them live up to unobtainable expectations.

expect nothing from the Villain.

Best advice, took years of being a DOOM fan to comprehend.

Clamvillain track I disliked on first listen, enjoy a bit more on each listen as usual. it is a little slow. Lex should put out a 7" with this track on one side and Banished on the other.

JJ DOOM remains awesome, though in my perfect world it would have been all DOOM production.

The clams Is cool. Nice to hear him slowed down for a bit. Each 'new' phase of villain is refreshing to me anyway.

I can't get into JJ DOOM but its aight. Can't love everything right now. Maybe I'll be 40 before I'm like "oh shit, I missed out on that LP".

Paying $40.00 for some wax and cardboard.

Always love the contemporary references, like the above and "Shades of Grey". Also clever self-reference in the hook to "Gazzillion Ear".
