Yeah it is a shame this is so slept on. Quite a few people I know who are huge DOOM fans had/still have no idea about it. And I have to agree that it is a really great album; it captured the idea of a collaboration very well a la Madvillain in the sense that each artist gets his shine throughout the record. This is my first experience with JJ but his beats are fucking awesome. Some of my favorite tracks don't even have DOOM on 'em like STILL KAPS and that crazy instrumental near the end.

albums doing alright in sales, last I heard.

Nice! Every time I mention 'New DOOM album' to someone it seems like they have it within a few weeks of me bringing it to their attention. I've said it before and I'll say it again, LEX's marketing is absolutely terrible/non-existent (at least here in the States) but they make it up with super quality packaging.

I've never really had an issue with LEX in the past, but over the past couple years they are growing more and more whack.

I know reviews are individual opinions and shouldn't be criticised, but c'mon:

http://www.rapreview...tothekuffs.html

The fact the reviewer says that Viberian Sun Pt 2 is his favourite track makes me smh.

No hate at all, just speaks volumes considering the tone of the rest of the review. Makes it seem like VB Pt 2 is one of the few good things about an album that in his view is sub-par. Most would find a reviewer liking an instrumental track over a Guv'nor or a Winter Blues somewhat surprising.

Whoever wrote that review don't know shit and whatever he says has been regurgitated so many times over the years. Who's gonna value such a douchebag opinion without any substance?

To be fair, in regards to the review, on my first few listens I would have given it around a 6 too. I wasn't too in love with the album at all. After spending some time with it though I really enjoy it. Just took a bit to grow

Same, but it seems like they are saying thay have been listening to it for 6 months & only now just getting round to reviewing it. Rapreviews have gone down in my estimation. Hip Hop sites stay having shite reviewers!!

Official SoundScan number as of today is 12,199

So I wonder what it isn't counting.

Soundscan's tracking and numbers are based on the sales info various retail and merchant outlets submit to them. Distributors and labels have more accurate numbers.

Thought i'd share this. Vols 1 thru 6 of Special Weedz. I've listened to the first Vol and must say it's pretty decent. Certainly has the good old herbs vibe for sure ^_^

There's a rare Viktor Vaughn track out there...think someone posted a youtube vid of it earlier in this thread but it shut down pretty quick. Anyone able to re-up a link??

Not that much unreleased stuff that I know of. Kurious' Snake Charmer Pt.2 went under the radar I think. Link below:

https://soundcloud.c...snake-charmer-2

Then theres a track due from a collab with Child of Lov. Discogs has it listed as available on vinyl but the track isn't actually on said vinyl.

More shit i'd never seen before; KMD Live in 1990:

Years ago I remember reading an interview with DOOM talking about the tour KMD did with the Brand Nubes (imagine that, damn!) and that he'd never really smoked cheeba before that and that they were just smoking alla time.

Not sure if this was the one (it's a bit dated):

Peace to the God Squad!

Good read bro...This peaked my interest:

MVRemix: A lot of songs have been leaked online like "Change The Beat," "Is He Ill," "Where's The Boat?" Are they just to keep people up on your stuff or is it going to be a future project?

Wonder if the interviewer just got titles mixed up, or there actually is a track called 'Where's the Boat?' out there somewhere....

....This also made me laugh a little bit:

DOOM: To me it's like they're jerkin' the public around. Standards are getting so low now that you've paid around $20 for the CD, you want at least something valuable, something to listen to you know. The way I do it is I'm trying to give people their money's worth. Bring back good musical standards.
 ...*Thinks about DOOMposters"...

Hey ST Bot...Good looks on upping the KMD live vid on the homepage !! Surely I win a prize for finding it tho, no?? lol

Oh, uhh....

BOOM......DOOMStarks Update!!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnN6d1og5a4&feature=player_embedded

Can't make out most of what DOOM says at the end. All I can pick out is "This sh*t is timeless"

Ahh, that's cool. Was a bit dissapointed that this wasn't 'almost done' as DOOM had claimed around September. 3 months since the vid was recorded makes me slightly more hopeful we will see it this year. How many years have I said that though, lol.

Just want the new Madvillain to come out ASAP. One of the last pages of the Frank DOOM Book had a teaser for it which raised my hopes again, but that was July of last year. Wish ST would give us all a little (honest) heads up about it for once. :(

The hype for the new Madvillainy has became a project in itself with more sequels than the Special Herbs series.

Wouldn't get my hopes up.

Obviously not, too long in the waiting game to get my hopes up. Never been much info from the ST camp other than the J Rocc video featuring some MV2 tracks, but that was 2009. Makes me wonder if those tracks will be on the final product or not due to them being avaiable in "cyber space" for so long.

There are only two people on the planet that have any idea about when/if the next Madvillain will be out. And they're both weirdos that don't like to talk with the public much. PBW has stated before that after the success of MV ST was trying hard to keep DOOM and Mad on some sort of schedule to get a sequel out. Neither dude does well with schedules, so ST backed off and are letting the two cats work at the pace they need to.
