That Beat CD was so sick, I'm pumped for his new album.

thought i'd bump this instead of creating a new Shlohmo thread...
but yeah, i saw him, Jim-E Stacks and D33J last night in Denver-- it was a great show. i'm a little bummed that i lost my spot at the front cause i misunderstood the order of the line-up and went to the merch booth between Jim-E and Shlohmo's sets to speak with D33J for a few mins...found out he had already finished performing long before i had even got there. but, i bought me a t-shirt and that newest EP from Shhhhh on vinyl, wearing the shirt today and it still reeks of residue weed from the venue haha.
he really knows how to make a set flow the whole way through though. i wish he would've played some vintage Bad Vibes or fine, thanks in his set, but he's sorta moved on from that sound unfortunately and really embraced this trappy/electro/edm/hip-hop/downtempo/r&b sorta hybrid that is still really dope, just different from the shit that made me a fan to begin with. out of all the beats he played, the one that stood out to me was using an actual, recognizable sample that was slowed wayyyyy the fuck down (kinda like that Lord Raja beat for "Father's Day" off that new JJ tape), which was really cool and different from anything else i've ever heard him produce (i have a shitty recording of it on my phone i think).
but yeah, overall i give the show a solid A. and the weird, timid hipster fans a mid-range C cause barely anyone else was dancing besides me...instead they just stood around and stared, i can only imagine how awkward that must feel for someone up on the stage playing music that's intended to make people dance lol.

Haha that's me at EVERY show I go to. I've actually gotten into some pretty heated situations bc people actually usually get mad at me for dancing. The first time I saw James Pants he was opening for Daedalus and there were maybe 50 people in attendance at the Fox in Boulder so I had plenty of room to groove. Some nasty ass hippy bitch who was literally sitting on the floor playing fucking chess had the nerve to talk some shit; so of course I invaded her space and pounded my big brown boots all over the place...
