ok, i am tired of going over my friend's house just to use his 1200s in order to sample something. who makes some decent direct drive turntables that i can get for far less than 1200s money?

for sampling purposes, you could use anything.. look at the portable numark pt-01. somebody posted a link where it was $60 a couple days ago, search for it.

In my opinion, as for sampling... it's more of the needles than the table. You can get a junker of a table, but if you have something like Sure M44s on that piece, you'll get a nice sound.

i got the numar PT-01. which is pretty dope. its just a bitch cuz the only way to start and stop the record from playing is by flippin the on/off switch.
not sure how the vestax is, but you might wanna check that out first.

i've used the portable vestax player and the sound wasn't that good (unless you like it real gritty). i've used a numark and had static problems. now i have a 1210 and i'm finally satisfied.

don't think so. doesn't matter though. if you're a good producer you'll make it sound dope even with the shitty needle

Yeah, if you're using one of those portible joints, it aint gonna happen. But, for the same loot you can get a belt drive stanton or something with a removible cartridge and then you can put the 44s on.

he's not talking about making good beats with a portable, I'm pretty sure he's talking about whether or not you can put the different kind of cartridge on the turntable.

Just go buy a cheap direct drive gemini from a pawn shop to sample from.
