I dig this joint ... but in my opinion it doesn't have that grimey lo-fi vibe to it that I'm used to hearing when I play a Madlib beat ... Sounds too mixed.

Yup. Knew I had heard it before; there's also a Nas song called Find Ya Wealth that came out around the same time as that 12" and it uses the same sample.

You think kanye would release a song that he recorded on a 4 track cassette recorder through headphones.
REALLY?!?! Lo fi!?!?!?! With Swiss Cheese Beats on a verse?!?!?!
Kanye is still making music videos on late 1990s-like budgets.

If Madlib makes the offical Kanye album, I don't care what it sounds like. I care that if he does make the album, he will make mad loot and put that to work on his Medicine Show imprint.

LO FI through a compressed shitty download... you got to be kidding me!

Sounds nice... but really different from regular Madlib stuff. I like it. Would be crazy if he did beats for Kanye, lots of money.

Because it sounds the exact same as the 2nd half of the song Loopdigga from Lootpack's Weededed 12".

so let me get this straight. every here is assuming madlib produced this based on the fact that it uses the same sample of the kanye west song?

we're all under the assumption that if madlib were asked by kanye to send beats that he would 1. remake a beat he already did? 2. send kanye stuff from his catalogue almost a decade old? 3. even if kanye requested a beat similar to one of madlib's older beats you'd think he'd do it?

by your guys' logic madlib must have produced supreme mathematics (born mix) by lord jamar if he produced savior beans no?

^ Exactly, this beat is just a straight loop, any one could have "produced" it.

here's an update. kanye/madlib still in the works:

Other details that emerged from the conference call were the confirmation of tracks with both Madlib and Q-Tip—although Kanye didn’t tell if those contributions would be found on Watch The Throne or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kanye said the collaboration definitely happened already and the result of it is “in the works right now.”

from HipHopDX

hov on madlib? not from mind fusion 4? sounds good to me.

Easy there broseph, it's just a message board. Taking things more lightly will save you a lot in the long run.
