Hi Everybody,
not really a complete addition, but it can probably help us to find another one:

04 - Herbie 0:00:55 : is another version of a track called "Figure Eight" that you can also hear on the Hal Galper's LP called The Guerilla Band on Mainstream Records

^ thanks much for posting this Minvk :)
it led me to watching/listening to quite a batch of Freddie Hubbard & co live videos ... amazing stuff
however, looks like deodato @2:45 is a version of Hubbards ' One Of Another Kind'
(don't know which version though ... there are many! )
here's a snippet from one of them http://player.qobuz.com/#!/track/508528

& just stumbled on this one !
Ranelin @ 2:06 is Semuta - Blue Pearl

The introductory bit is from Lord Buckley's "Subconscious Mind" from the album "Blowing His Mind (And Yours Too)" 1966.

Hi!
I find today the "Science Fiction LP" from Ornette Coleman.
And i'm pretty sure to hear few seconds that probably appear in this madlib's mix:
tell me what did you think about that :

Samples appear around 00:31 and 01:19
... so, am I trippin?

^ @ lordquaz
I had a listen.... but no, I don't recognize it ...
reminds me a little bit of the bass work in the 'Malika' track or the beginning of the Art Blakey track -
the part that is mixed in with the 'crowd' sounds going 'yesss...ohhhhh ! ,etc.

lordquaz, I experienced the same thing with this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQKAh9nrofM

but as mello p pointed out it's actually a portion of the Art Blakey tune in the mix it reminded you of
we still have to find the source of the

...
'yesss...ohhhhh ! ,etc.

though

The Guy In The Glass
Dale Wimbrow © 1934
1895-1954

When you get what you want in your struggle for self,
And the world makes you King for a day,
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself,
And see what that guy has to say.

For it isn't your Father, or Mother, or Wife,
Who judgement upon you must pass.
The feller whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the guy staring back from the glass.

He's the feller to please, never mind all the rest,
For he's with you clear up to the end,
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test
If the guy in the glass is your friend.

You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum,
And think you're a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the guy in the glass.

Rain Or Hail
e e cummings

rain or hail
sam done
the best he kin
till they digged his hole
:sam was a man

stout as a bridge

rugged as a bear

slickern a weazel

how be you

(sun or snow)

gone into whaat

like all them kings

you read about

and on him sings

a whippoorwill;

heart was big

as the world aint square

with room for the devil

and his angels too

yes,sir

what may be better

or what may be worse

and what may be clover

clover clover

(nobody'll know)

sam was a man

grinned his grin

done his chores

laid him down.

Sleep well

track 4 @ 0:00 is Rudy Ray Moore - Man In the Glass
track 6 @ 3:01 is from Lord Buckley - Marquis De Sade The King Of The Bad Cats

latest addition : Dolphy @10:33 --> Ranelin @0:29 is Nat Adderley: "St. M"
I should have found this one much earlier. I knew I recognized a Soul Survivor sample on it

I thought I heard Zappa in the beginning of St. M.

I think I need a copy of Calling Out Loud.

Thanks for the track list everyone. I've been buying up music like crazy because of this. The Byron Morris & Unity CD is awesome. Obviously the Calling Out Loud is one of my new favorites. I got a Lord Buckley record which was still sealed and that has been fun to listen to. I'm looking for that George Duke record, that song rips... "Music is the Best" - FZ
