I was reading ?uestlove's interview where he talks about J Dilla:
http://benzandabackpack.com/?p=4152

"I saw him about four days before he passed away. I went over to his house and I snuck over to the turntable to see what record he was using for what I didnít know then was his last beat. I happened to notice that he had a copy of Funkadelicís America Eats Its Young on the turntable. And the needle was actually, even though it wasnít rotating, the needle was actually on the title track. And in my head I was like, ĎHmm?í thatís the most boring song on the record. If anything, I thought heíd have it on a funkier cut, like Loose Booty. So, cut to two years later, I see Jay Rock over in Europe, and he says: ďI have the last track that Dilla worked on, and it was based on America East Its Young.Ē And I was telling him, Iím like: ďYo, thatís the most boring song on that album. I donít know if I want to hear it, I mean I canít see him making a miracle out of it.Ē And I heard it andÖmy God. I was really just flustered because I donít know how he had the patience to sit through seven minutes of the most monotonous chords ever, but he made a miracle out of it."

I was wondering if anyone knows what this last track J Dilla made was called or has a link to it? Thanks

How the hell are you going to run a website that interviews musicians like ?uestlove and 1) not know who J Rocc is and/or 2) not know how to do a quick google search for J Rocc.

I think he just means in comparison to the rest of the album that is, in his opinion, the most 'boring' song. This has always been my favorite Funkadelic album by far, every song is a straight banger.

honestly there has been some overwhelming douchebaggery in the ST and talk sections of late; sadly Supreme and Shea never seem to be around when their hostility is needed.

Don't pay no mind. Ignorant minds will soon kill the world.
Dilla was super human.

Bilal was influenced at about the minute mark on the sample for...

Through this story by ?love, I feel that Dilla was about to drop the drums.
No more drums. The drums that made him. I also heard that through J$P.

From a ?uestlove interview posted on Pitchfork today:

"His mom told me he made his last beat-- which was a very unusual flip of Funkadelic's "America Eats Its Young"-- and told her, "I think I'm ready." He laid on the couch and, two hours later, he expired."

LOL @ people thinking J.Rocc the Dj is Jay Rock the rapper....

Hip Hop Lost....

what's even more confusing is that there's a rapper in the group Clear Soul Forces (of Kankick-stealing infamy) that goes by the name of J Rocc...i even called him out on it once and he actually responded back to me on YouTube saying something to the effect of "Who's J Rocc? I'm the only J Rocc that matters..." i know that's paraphrasing his statement way down cause i don't remember it verbatim anymore, but those were basically his sentiments. smh on dudes who think they're cultured and knowledgeable about the underground and look up to dudes like Dilla, Kankick and Madlib, yet they don't even know about a very prominent guy in the same camp who's been going by J Rocc a lot longer...oh well, haha. kinda got carried away on this rant, but that's what i figured i'd add.

shout outs to 4444 for linking that soundcloud snippet--made my day man.
