Are there any Vinyl's that you have purchased which is sealed or new and are the following
-Limited
-Rare
-or just plan special to you
That you have never opened just for cherishing or financial plans?

i mean, i can't speak for others, and maybe if it was a double of a classic i could totally understand i guess, but fuck that, i buy that shit cause i wanna hear the music, but i also don't really buy too much new wax either, i don't have enough money to buy all my favorite hip hop on vinyl, so i'm talkin only old used dusty vinyl

Yes, if it's not stored in some nice climate controlled area. I've seen plenty of mint looking sealed LP's only to open them and see that the wax has a lip to it or some bowing on one side. I don't buy sealed copies for the sake of it, really don't have the coins to do so if I wanted. I've known plenty of heads who have though. Usually fall directly into to two groups, first is for wall art the other is strictly for flipping at some point. I guess if I come across a title that's being sold very cheap and is sealed in VG+ shape that I already have and know that value of it, I'd pick it up and flip it, but personally I prefer buying opened LP's, allows me to check the actual condition.

I bought a re-issue of Marvin Gaye's What's Going On just to put the album cover and the record itself in separate picture frames that are meant for hanging records on your wall.

I have them up on a wall right next to my beatmaking set-up.

To me it's the greatest soul album ever created, and I hold it in highest regard. It was pivotal in my teenage years when I discovered it.

For the most part though, if I buy records it's for the intention of listening/sampling, and very very occasionally just to have a certain piece in the collection. Even those "collectibles" end up on the deck here and there.

Those are great albums, but to me What's Going On was a revolutionary soul album.

Whats going on is Pretty fucking amazing! I love how almost the whole album loops and sync in together, I don't have that on wax but I do have a pretty old CD version of it!

As far as I know those Los Angeles Remix 12"s are limited and not being sold anymore :/

I wish I had copped a few more Sshh' EP's...I love that one but saddly, I only bought one >_>

Oh I kept another LP sealed:

Motion Man - Pablitos Ways numbered and signed copy. That shit is not rare at all but for the laughs I keep it sealed lol.

I also wished I had kept the Show & AG - The Show & A Experience 2LP sealed, seeing that it fetches some nice prices now

I just noticed it was released in 2009 (lol, when I was thinking it was some 70s stuff)

^ Isn't that a release of some newly discovered Soul/Funk treasures that have previously not seen the light of day? I remember reading that it was supposed to be really good. As far as price goes, it is whatever you paid for it, and will be the same for sometime, open and enjoy is my advice! :D

$45? Is it a limited press or something?

Edit: Looked this joint up on Light in the Attic's website, they got it going for $12, so don't get caught up in that Ebay shenanigans.
