I really enjoyed vol. 12 to 14

I find that these beat tapes are best when I haven't listened to them in ages and i read up on the shit he puts in the music. I notice/learn something new every time. He really diggs into the culture of sound.

Vol. 0 is a weird release...i'll give you that. but if you put it into the context of pre-Quas, '90s-era boom bap, it stands out as a pretty stellar example of the kinds of sounds Madlib can conjure up without getting too deep into the experimentation and eclecticism that much of his later works include. i look at it in the same way as the Jay Dee recordings from like '95, when he was working with Tip and Ali in the Ummah...it's all good music though ^_^

personally, my favorite is (without question) Vol. 5-6. its one of those releases that made me get into producing music myself, & in many ways it's a masterpiece of Lib's craft over the past decade.

Vol. 0 is dope as hell. It's shorter so it's hard to compare it properly to the others. But Vol. 0 on the double 7"s? a killer little set, dope listening experience, mad eclectic sounds in 15 minutes, and to me personally almost every one is standout, classic madlib. Anybody ever take a shower bumping it? great, and timed perfectly for it.

Ain't it about that time for another Beat Konducta? Last one was March '10 and he seems pretty consistent about releasing them.

I can't really decide since I love all of them equally but for the last few weeks I've had Movie Scenes daily on heavy rotation.

I just red in an interview that black widow isn’t a track able to picture the whole album but more of an excerpt from a « box set » filled with rock, punk and industrial music but not just psych joints. So don’t just based your judgement on this joint. Expect much more.
