I'm surprised 0 got some votes....that one of the few Madlib releases I can't get into at all.
Vol. 0 is a weird release...i'll give you that. but if you put it into the context of pre-Quas, '90s-era boom bap, it stands out as a pretty stellar example of the kinds of sounds Madlib can conjure up without getting too deep into the experimentation and eclecticism that much of his later works include. i look at it in the same way as the Jay Dee recordings from like '95, when he was working with Tip and Ali in the Ummah...it's all good music though
personally, my favorite is (without question) Vol. 5-6. its one of those releases that made me get into producing music myself, & in many ways it's a masterpiece of Lib's craft over the past decade.

based on "black widow" i'm mostly looking forward to Rock Konducta Vol 1
I just red in an interview that black widow isn’t a track able to picture the whole album but more of an excerpt from a « box set » filled with rock, punk and industrial music but not just psych joints. So don’t just based your judgement on this joint. Expect much more.

the worst is beat konducta in africa
^this (worst of a great bunch though), although i can't help thinking that if it had been released as seperate lps like the other beat konductas i would have got more into it. just a bit too much to absorb from 3 discs all in one go, all starts to sound very samey. of course 3 seperate lps would have hurt my pocket a bit more.
beat konducta around the world, anyone? i love it.
