HouseShoes posted this track up last week and I was just curious if anyone had any information on it. I noticed that Dilla says "Ruff Draft" in the beginning. Was it an outtake from the RD sessions? Will it ever be officially released? What's the story behind this one?

all of the Ruff Draft outtakes were released on Stones Throw's reissue of Ruff Draft (Wild, Take Notice, etc.).

This track is from an album that Dilla recorded in 2002 for a major label which was never released.

What about the the 3rd track in this video (this track's vocal was used in Thank You Jay Dee Vol 4 by J.Rocc) :

Dilla is saying "RUFF DRAFT YO" at 1:12.

Besides, I hope the new Dilla Estate will release those tracks too :

I wish some of this material came out officially so that Ma Dukes and the Dilla estate could get whats theirs.

I expect some material to be released as time goes on. J Rocc recently said on Twitter to be on the look out for that 'Safety Dance'!

Very good stuff on those videos that remains unreleased.
Ma Dukes and her people should start backing up the Jay Dee beat archives and release this stuff for us. Judging by the internet bootlegging the demand is huge.
anyone got any new info on these beattapes and any possible official Jay Dee releases in the future?

Any word on a full version of this track?

I have all of the MCA albums tracks that have leaked and it's not one of them. J Rocc played this exact same clip (literally...no more/no less) when he and Madlib were in Houston...

the 'MCA album' that people think they have heard is not the album that Dilla made, it's merely a selection of unfinished, unmastered tracks.

Gratifying news (even if this reply was from a year ago) b/c, outside of a couple of tracks, I wasn't very impressed w/ the supposed MCA album that many of us had accepted as the leaked final product. 'Radio' wouldn't have fit in schematically w/ the album, but the idea that 'Radio' was in fact part of the record is exciting; it leads me to believe that more tracks of this ilk are on the album.

The track at the :50 mark in the first video you posted is called 'Bounce Wit a N*gga.' It was released on a 7" in a package w/ some other record I bought about a year ago. I think it was Slum's Fantastic Vol. 1 12"

Wouldn't say it would be an outtake. Dilla made all those tracks in like 2 days
