A few days ago, some poster asked me by pm if I could give him ideas on songs to sample after seeing some of the stuff I was posting in the "what are you listening now?" thread in the Talk section. I kinda sent him to hell telling him just basically that he should sample whatever he likes that it was a matter of taste and bla bla bla. Now for quite some time now Ive been "collecting" some loops I think someone could make dope beats out of. That person is not me since I don't have the equipment to make beats and can't afford it at the moment but I came to think that I could share my ideas with some of the guys who do make beats here on the stmb. To the guy who sent me the pms that I unfortunately deleted since (yall know how tiny that inbox is), I hope you are reading this. I would provide complete songs here and loops of the parts I like. it's up to you to do the chopping/pitching/sequencing/filtering/whatever_else (if neccessary) so you'll still have 45% of the credit. 50 goes to the song artist(s) and 5 to me (lol!). I will give infos on the song to anybody with a worthwile beat.
I know there are some talented cats on here....this could be cool.

Sounds interesting.

Even though you don't have beat making equipment, how do you think you would be at putting together a project? For example getting some artwork done and compiling the music?

The reason I ask is because this idea can actually be turned into something that you could have more hands on work in than putting up samples. More of an EP role. Like "Liv Presents..."

Could be a good promotional tool for everyone involved.

my only skill is my ear basically lol. yeah I could do some themed compilations sure but not much else really. I am not a visual artist even though I can also have ideas on that aspect

There are other skills you can work on though. Maybe managing people and making sure a project gets seen through. You may not be a visual artist but maybe you can find some artists that you can direct. You may not have beat making equipment but you may be able to compile a bunch of tracks from different sources and be able to put them together in a project where the music sounds right together.

Depending on how strong your ideas and your follow through is, there is a lot you can accomplish with just an ear and determination. Heck there are a lot of beatmakers, myself included, that would kill to have someone around with a good ear and the ability to get other shit done, leaving us free to create.

Anyways, it's just an idea. If you get even a couple of good beat makers in on this it could have potential, especially if you have crazy samples and some good ideas to feed their creativity.
