HAÏTIEN!
This is funny... I convinced Débruit to make one too last week. He's infact going to release it and send the $ to haiti.
Sent him some t-vice, Tabou and some other tracks. Can't recall.
Anyhow, have fun w/ it.
Pi-tar.

i'm just saying it's more rhythm than melody, and by more i mean alot more

first of all, it's got significant melody, chord progression, etc. i mean, if you grew up in vienna in the 17th century, i can see how you might disagree. second of all, rhythm with no melody is still just as musical as with melody. again, if you're a white dude from times when slavery was legal and bathing was frowned upon, i can see why you'd say that. but dude. IT'S 2010, AND THIS IS HIP HOP FORUM.
i like the beat. definitely stones-throw-y. especially digging how the horn sounds are chopped... if that's what they are. maybe pitched down flutes?

what does race have to do with music? i'm black, and i think hip hop could use more melody, alot more
this beat doesn't have that much melody goin on, point blank, it's still dope but it's 2010, lets progress

I didn't mean to make it a racial thing. Just that certain cultural frames of reference can see the same thing in totally different ways. Like you and I have different ideas of what constitutes melody. But hey, what would art be without a whole sea of opinion and taste. That's what makes the world go 'round. If we all had the same idea of what's dope, what's melody, what's rhythm, this shit wouldn't be so fun. :-)
