2 minute time limit
192kbps mp3 only
Flip the chosen sample any way you want
Outside drums and bass are allowed
No outside keys/synths (exception - bass)
No acapellas
Vocal samples/skits are allowed
Cuts/scratches are permitted

this shit is crazy, so many runner ups. lol i dont think goodwill expected it to work like this. i got an idea tho, hear me out runners:


i could take all the tracks but "forge your own chains" and take a piece from each one of them and flatten the pieces out into one track, and see who can flip the best beat while incorporating each piece of the sample the best.

doing it this way would make it so next winner would get to keep the ball rolling with choosing their own samp for the next battle. otherwise we'll have to continue to pull the samps from the stdrop.

another idea i had was to split the samp into two tracks: one would be of two tracks(ex. a man called jesus and poppin popcorn) and label it the "red pill" ( because you wont know which samples are in each beat.) and label the other the blue pill. EX:

144 drop:

[sample this] The red pill

[sample this] The blue pill

you wont know which samples i have pieced together in each beat, or what pieces were taken until you choose.

think about it, open to anything tho.

nah, sorry we can't really "burn" that many of the songs in one week...sounds interesting though...

Justed uped mine.love the samp but always have a hard time with these kind seeing it is already pretty hip hop ish as is.ghostface would kill this .kinda style it reminds me of.

i'm with islate. i would end up doing some obvious looping shit with this, which wouldn't really be bringin it battle style. some good beats up there already though. definitely more soul in this sample than last week's which makes it kinda easy. don't get me wrong, i've jacked many a loop verbatim in my day. i love those challenging ones though where the song is hella cheezy and people flip some dope shit out of it.
