oh you a disco dancer, word? well, mecca lecca hi, mecca chani ho, motherfucker.

hey i have a request. i have this anti-mp3 purist streak in me, and as member of a borderline-fundamentalist Orthodox Cratediggerist sect, i'd like to see whenever possible, uncompressed 16b 44.1k wav samples, recorded straight from vinyl. i know that's not possible for some of us, and to be democratic about it, i'd say mp3 format should always be available too for those with slow connections and short attention spans, and i know some folks just have a pure software setup and/or no turntables and therefore can't record vinyl to .wav in the first place. in that case a wav ripped straight from CD would be the best option, and mp3 would be the last resort.

of course, the beats people upload should be mp3, i have no beef with that. it's just the sample i'm talking about here.

not sure what the proper channel is for this recommendation, but thought i'd just slap it onto this thread. Thoughts?

winner/uploaders prerogative. the drop is 100 MB which usually gets pretty full with beats, so a new drop needs to be made and linked up, which is extra hassle for the few people here who start the threads, plus the winner has to upload 40-100MB of wav which can take a long time on aDSL.

When you win, you can provide the wavs, otherwise I bet it doesn't happen

you can make as many as you need to express yourself but they can only vote on 1. you`re right i feel dum everyone freaked the 1st 30 seconds or so now its back to the drawing board for me. you know that would be a great beat battle get like a super short sample and see who can flip it the most and the best hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Couldnt sleep, so i decided to finish my beat for y'all. Appropriately named "No relation," in reference to Jesus saying [in regards to lazarus] sleep is the cousin of death. since i am not getting any sleep, we have no relation. i hope y'all enjoy some ruggedness. thanks for listening, and thank you for having me on stonesthrow.

exactly, i get all that. it's just me being idealistic more than practical. either that or goodwill's right and im just straight bitch.

i had vijay benedict stuck in my head at 3am and couldn't sleep. Toe jumo! Toe nacho! O made a set a nacho. Go!

Then I had the corniest idea. Just finished this over a plate of tikka masala...

was this sample taken off VHS? it kinda has that crinkly plastic VHS sound in places. dirty as fuck. thanks to whoever dug this!
