Producers

* Go to the bottom of the STMB Beat Battle #142 page, you will find the sample mp3 located there for download.
* Flip the sample and make a beat (see below for Production Rules)
* Upload your beat to the BB #142 page

Production rules

* 2 minute time limit
* 192kbps mp3 only
* flip the chosen sample any way you want
* outside drums and bass are allowed
* no outside keys/synths (exception - bass)
* no acapellas
* vocal samples/skits are allowed
* cuts/scratches are permitted

don't know about the iPhone but on my Nokia (symbian) I go to the beats drop and add /m to the end of the URL, from there I can download the beats. Maybe u could hook up an RSS feed reader to automatically download the beats when new ones get upped

while the files are accessible through the regular and mobile version of the drop.io site on the iphone, the address to the files does not end in .mp3, so the iphone interprets them as text files and you get a long string of code instead of music. The dropcast works in itunes to automatically download the latest beats on your computer but the iphone doesnt load the new ones, you have to sync to get them. So that's a no. If anyone figures out a way to access the beats using their iphone directly, please let us know.

Who's version of Nature Boy are we chopping up? This has always been one of my favorite songs. I'm partial to Johnny Hartman's version, but its hard to fuck with Mr. Hartman's voice. Fila Brazilia did a nice version a few years back on some Jazz and Bass breakbeat shit.

This version is by Bobby Darin. My second choice for the battle was Ella doing Blue Moon, sick strings in that track.

Congrats to Maestro on the win last week, I didnt have time to vote on the beats but Ill be checking everything and voting this week. Just upped my take on the sample as well. The sample this week was pretty damn tight too...I could make like 10 beats outta that ish.
