ok let make this short and sweet sorry no time for the full run down but the gym waits for no man. This is my top 5 starting at five 5.Cos the flip was ill and that bass was supa dope 4. solow there was just something about your beat i really was digging 3. Milklord great chops to me way to not pick the sample everyone picked and the flip was nice with the vocal sprinkled in digging it 2. fourfive really it was a toss up for one and two great beat over all really well produced 1. Apollo Green and if thats your real name hat is one of the dopest name ever but this beat had my neck hurting. and this weeks buttaslickest award goes to Goodwill again homie this is dope i just saw ghost face all over this beat like hey yo hey yo check the fly ish

this battle is sick! all the beats knock! it was hard voting cause i was stuck between a few...

Goodwill
apollo
45
unseen

i wish i could vote for at least two:

unseen layed it down, shit is sooo dope, the eq'ing and the filter throughout is priceless, it pushes the beat forward. very unique.
but to be honest i am really feeling goodwill's because of the overall production. it has value, plain and simple. nothing to do with the other votes.

GOODWILL - i want to see you come out on top on this one, everything about the beat is on point.

real talk, i think ima vote MILKLORD because its so reminiscent of pete rock. i have such a difficulty getting anything produced with that smoothness, so i really admire this sound.

a close runner up to JonWayne for his rugged beat. that ish is like a trigger happy premier.

everyone deserves some accolades for they efforts. this is such an exciting and conducive concept. im really grateful to be a part of it. so thank you.

edit: i just wanted to mention that theres a lot of talent here.

okay.. some comments

Jvox + COS - nice experimental approach. Props!

Milklord - Nice drums, vocal layer was dope!

Jinesis - Nice basic flip, uptempo drums are crisp! Less is more is what i always say
and it worked here.

Destrukt - 0:35 is where dopeness starts!

Fourfive - Some "Chocolate Boy Wonder" type filter... digging it!

Jonwayne - nice drums

Westcoastcyco - Primo style drumsequencing. Too bad it's missing a simple bassline
and more punch in the drums. I liked the idea..

Goodwill - Something about the flip I realy feel. Nice one!

I'd say... DESTRUKT

even though there was a lot of unwanted noise in the sample, I liked this flip the most.

my favourites this week were:

apollo green - very unique, I liked the way you flipped the sample
fourfive - awesome drums, and I liked the way you used a minimal sample, but added some scratched vocals to make it interesting

buttaslick - hard drums, great chopping of the sample and liked the extra percee p and billy danze vocals

I got to give it to MILKLORD, I know yall say this sounds like Pete Rock, but I gotta say when the vocals come in washed in reverb over that subby bassline, it reminded me of Fantastic, and I have been a die hard Dilla fan for 10 years at least(you hit my soft spot), though i would have liked to hear the whole 2 min and a little more variation. Four Five reminded me of some 90s Large Pro(another beat GOD) shit, the wordplay with the rap samples is dope(definitely on some primo scratch chorus shit) but the scratches were obviously pasted in front of the vocal samples, and this bugged me(the scratches themselves sounded a hell of a lot like primo scratching mos def vocals). Mizube and Apollo also get mentions because they took that sample and owned it in their own style. I really like too many of these beats to mention all y'all. Allot of you are on that bugout shit...and I like it...but some of it didnt knock hard enough
I got half a mind to be on some Ego Battle Asshole shit and vote for myself. Cos thought the transitions weren't smooth enough, but that was the point on some of the transitions. There is nine melodic variations in my beat( I had more but you know, 2 min.) and some of the transitions were intentionally jarring. I envisioned the first half as like a walk in the park, then it gets dark and someone robs you for your kicks and beats you silly with them. Slow, yes...but I couldnt take listening to that sample at full pitch any longer, I like that slow hard neck snap shit. I was going to call it "Walk In The Park?" but the vocals in the background kept saying "kick your ass" or "keep the rest", so I went with the less hostile, since yall are so nice and gracious.
I want to thank everyone who showed love, and especially everyone who put up some criticism. I just want to say WE NEED MORE VOTERS!!!! Get your grind on....Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, word of mouth.....whatever. I don't see any of you retweeting @STMBBeatBattles. That 2 week rule is wack too IMHO. Id rather lose to someones hype votes and get a whole new audience up in this, than see less votes than producers. Just my 2 cents. It feels more like a friendly competition than a battle, not that that's a bad thing.

and, uhhhhh....

if I'm in your way....MOVE ME

JVOX JVOX JVOX JVOX

i really like it. outside the box inside my brain kind of deal going on. it sounds electronic and that just makes me want to fuck a robot.

second place FOURFIVE (IMO). I picked JVOX because it doesn't sound like hip hop, it's like some android-hop. but FOUR FIVE was the best out of the rest if you ask me.

woot my first vote boizzzz maybe I'll compete this next time around, pick some good rules WINNER.

hahahah mad format fail. FUCK IT!

What up librarian?

The 2 week rule is no more, I'll take it down off the FAQ. It was just confusing people. I agree it was kinda wack, we were trying to stop newbs from placing a bunch of fake votes.

More retweets of @STMBBeatBattles would be good, thanks to those that have been doing that.
