I couldnt help but notice that alot of people sampled the instruments used in the commercial, is that fair. so whats the point of the sample or this beat battle. If you can sample anything. I like how you have to flip a sample and only add drums and bass it really shows how hard the producer has work and not who has the best equipment. Maybe im over reacting but it did say if you add "VOCALS" it has to be from a commercial.Vocals Vocals Vocals not instruments or any other sounds.

i was thinking this too. but it's too hard to find commercials with no music on them. so I trimmed most of my samples to just the duration of the voice and worked with the samples as if the background music wasn't there. it still ended up adding at lot of melodic stuff to the song that sort of violates the whole intent of the battle. it was a great idea and really fun to work on, but there's definitely some gray area. i'd say vote for whatever track impresses you most in whatever criteria you think is important.

So .... about that source track. Did other people notice the very interesting production technique used? The left and right channel were two different mixes. One side had dominant guitar and the other elements muffled in the background. The other side had more even EQ with the guitar way back in the mix. then at around the 45 second mark the muffled side abruptly changes to a normal EQ. pretty odd.
