ANNOUNCEMENT:
STRONG ARM STEADY & MADLIB

Madlib has produced an album for Los Angeles rappers Strong Arm Steady (Krondon & Phil Da Agony) which is being completed this week. The album will be titled "Stoney Jackson" and features Talib Kweli, Phonte, Planet Asia, and Oh No among others. We'll have a full announcement for this record and a digital pre-release coming soon.

Madlib is also working on an album with Guilty Simpson titled "OJ Simpson" which will be released later, after the Strong Arm Steady collab. These two albums are the newest in a long line of Madlib hip-hop collab/production, including Madvillain, Jaylib and Quasimoto.

"

"The Madlib/Strong Arm Steady collaboration album Stoney Jackson came together in a flurry of creative energy over recent months. Prompted by Madlib’s stalwart DJ J.Rocc, who supplied SAS with 14 new Madlib beats CD, this album’s conception and delivery bear resemblance to the trajectory took by 2003’s Jaylib with J Dilla and 2004’s Madvillain with DOOM.

The SAS had previously rapped over Madlib’s music on their mixtape/album Deep Hearted and on the Talib Kweli/Madlib album Liberation.

The Stoney Jackson album unfolds over sixteen tracks and is a brisk, exciting hip hop record. Krondon and Phil The Agony supply the majority of the vocals with the third SAS member Mitchy Slick; guest appearances include Talib Kweli, Guilty Simpson, Little Brother’s Phonte, Planet Asia and a host of underground Los Angeles’s emerging rap talent.

Stoney Jackson represents Madlib’s return to the hip-hop fold and sets the scene for the OJ Simpson collaboration he’s finishing with Guilty Simpson."

this hip hop thing is great, so let the hate outside! they dont do it for you, they do it for themselfes.
so why ur wastin time on writin your opinion down here, just leave it alone.
this is music, you are complaining about some dudes who just made music together and now pressing it on wax.
you can bump it or dont, but why is there always a need to complain?? i dont get it

Why assume he's doing it for money? Strong Arm Steady isn't exactly mainstream...

Also, Phil Da Agony is part of the group, who's also from The Likwit Crew, which Madlib and and Lootpack have a past with... So it makes sense to me.

I like Phil Da Ag's voice. Plus, his name looks Italian if you spell it right, Phil D'Agony.

I have faith with this project. I have some SAS stuff...I peeped that interview they did awhile back w/that Madlib track in the back ground..... Phil is cool... but true, they are not the biggest lyrical giants of Hip Hop. But I felt the same way when I heard that Percee P and Madlib was doing an album together... and now I bumps that shit on a reg basis....

I think Madlib will change our expectations w/this one... hell, I donít think Wolf would even give this the green light unless the shit was hot......

And if worse comes to worst, new Madlib beats are always a bonus!!!!!

shit's funny on here
people dont want new madlib projects to drop except MV2 because they dl'ed illegal beat tapes that might have beats used on the project so they remote to saying the rapper or rapper's are horrible and they have already heard the beats
