Producers



• Go to the bottom of the STMB Beat Battle 128 page, you will find the sample mp3 located there for download.
  
• Flip the sample and make a beat (see below for Production Rules)
  
• Upload your beat to the BB128 page
  
  Production rules
  
  
  
• 2 minute time limit
  
• 192kbps mp3 only
  
• flip the chosen sample any way you want
  
• outside drums and bass are allowed
  
• no outside keys/synths (exception - bass)
  
• no acapellas
  
• vocal samples/skits are allowed
  
• cuts/scratches are permitted

how about in honor of #128 we raise the bitrate level cap to 196k? less beats and such. if we max out we'll have to go back to 128....sound good?

So who wants to extend the voting period so more people can vote? I know I can't vote on Fridays, but I could on Thursdays.

Let me know what you guys think about this schedule, all it does is add Thursday as a voting day:

Submission deadline - Wed Midnight
Voting - Thursday/Friday til Midnight
Sample picked ASAP Saturday
Beats in by Wed...and so on...

I'm down with this -- it seems more sensible than taking away weekend days from people who may only have that time for beat making etc. That being said, I usually only have monday or wednesday evenings to make beats, so hopefully nobody is in a similar situation but their day was thursday... =)

It seems that MOST beats are up before wednesday midnight anyway. It should probably be midnight PST instead of EST though -- Something to note for whoever creates the download archive -- in #127 there were a few late submissions that were not in the download archive.

Whenever you click 'create zip archive' it over-rights the last one. so if you are posting a beat, and see there is already a archive, get it recreated under the 'share/zip' option..

finally un-sick... uppded something in honor of being past a mofo'in summertime cold.

2. new voting/beat battle structure is perfect.

3. I just got my pc cleaned of virus and crap and i transfered all the fruity files from my external back into ithe pc drive and some of the vsti's are not working - gaaaaay. and now something is wrong with my fruity (FL 6) the beat i just recently made is not opening up due to some error. apperantly its a corrupt file? Wtf? grrr. think i need ot upgrade my fruity.

luckily i rendered the beat before the file effed up.

nothing special tho but this fruity error crap is annoying. wtf.

TBH that doesn't suit me at all. I don't use the internet at weekends, so I'll still be getting the sample on Monday but I have a day less to finish it.

Ideally, I'd like the new sample to be posted on a friday, so I can work on it over the weekend then submission and voting on wednesday and thursday

but i can put up with it, it's ok
