sorry if I get someone's name wrong -- just going by what I see..
Ashtray - digging the upbeat, uptempo vibe. nice bass line and key hits, vocal chops are solid too -- main complaint would be that the bongos/congas are a bit on the louder side, I would maybe soften them up in the mix and everything would be blended perfectly. really nice beat..!!
Wig - nice to see you still here, and as usual a very solid beat, really nicely done. I like how it switches up a little more at the end, nice touches there.
biz20 - choppy as hell in the best way possible, I love the way this beat struts..!! damn man, this one is ready to be murdered by an emcee and I wanna hear it..!! awesome..!!
Chaka Con Cos - crazy shit..!! sick take on the sample -- this would totally get the floor moving -- man, I was just waiting for it to come back in a couple measures after the last hit -- oh well. correct me if I am wrong but seemed like there was some outside synth work going on there, not a bad thing at all, just wondering is all. anyway, I really liked it..
Mr SS - no disrespect intended but if I had to guess you probably haven't been making beats too, too long, only because this sounds almost exactly like the beats I was doing pretty early on. this beat definitely flows very nicely and is solid composition wise, but you just have to make it sound cooler than what's there, you know..?? really punch up your sound, EQ it so it hits harder, filter it to your liking, double it or triple it with different effects, try to get a nice consistent sound .. mix up the drums, bass, add little odd sounds that you never think would work and drench them in effects or change the pitch or stretch the time so it does work, whatever -- basically just really push what you can do, don't simply remix the parts of the song into a nice flow, but chop that bitch up and really toy around with putting it back together. I really hope this doesn't come off as harsh as that is certainly not my intent -- and I don't mean to come off as anything extraordinary as I routinely hear beats on here that crush anything that I do .. I'm just saying that if you're where I think you are, just keep at it and keep trying new things .. it was the posts like these that I was getting early on that made me go back and look at what people were saying about my beats and address those issues (fortunately back then people seemed to say a lot more about each of the beats) -- everything isn't always gonna bang but you may still learn some important tricks while making a sucky-ass beat, so keep at it, I look forward to hearing some progress .. and in the event you've been doing this a while, then I guess I am calling this a bit amateurish..sorry
Wu_Beatz - it's a hard knock life -- ha ha, sorry.. nice groove, would have liked to hear more variety but what is there is definitely cool..
Maestro - dope, I love the feel of this beat -- nice and laid back..!! maybe a little too drenched in reverb, although it really does give it an extra spacey feel -- very cool.
Moxatron - this beat kinda lost me -- the chops are tight but not sure if everything came together quite right, though the part before the very ending was really cool, but I would soften the delayed hits as they are just as loud as the first hit and I think would be better if they were softer or something .. this one also could be punched up a bit with some EQing and effects -- nothing overboard, but just make it really sing instead of hum..
saxmob - not bad, I liked it but not sure everything fully came together at all times with this beat -- there's a lot going on, but sometimes the parts are fighting each other instead of fitting together, maybe try pulling parts back when bringing others forward so as a whole everything blends together nicely..??
buttaslick - this beat is evil..!! sounds really nice, man -- grimey, grimey, grimey as fuck..!!
sft - dope beat, kinda similar to butta's in that it's really your bassline that moves the beat -- I really like what you got going on from the sample and the drums move really nice .. great work.
Lord Dubious - pretty interesting, honestly I am not really digging it but I have to really give a lot of credit to how well it is all put together and how great it sounds -- there's really nothing wrong with it, it's just not to my personal liking -- sorry..
b.banks - damn, this shit sounds MASSIVE..!! both parts are really dope .. would have maybe liked to hear the second one ride out a little longer (and maybe just bring down the horn stabs a bit), but otherwise very dope..
TRON - man, this is one of the illest basslines I've heard in a loooooooooooooooooong time..!! really nice beat, I think I like it a little more when you got it a little less choppy, but definitely love how you keep it all interesting -- and would probably actually sound really great with some rhyming over it -- great beat.
DJ Earl-e - nice beat, I like the way it moves but I am just not a big fan of how things can sound when slowed down too much and it starts sounding kinda washy, but otherwise it was pretty nice..
vote goes to Biz20, but sft kept it real close for me...
