The Drop containing the sample can be found here

4five/agent of change, be sure to use a sample from the Stones Throw collection here

rules are (slight change to default):
- 1 beat per person (2 mins or under)
- Upload a 128kbps 44.1 kHz MP3, not m4a with YOUR NAME in the file name eg 'Gary Glitter - My Gang.mp3'
- outside drums and bass allowed
- YES to outside keys (with the caveat that the sample still has to be the main theme).
- use the sample that is in the drop to make your beat, no outside sample
- vocal cuts/skits are allowed
-you need to submit a beat or be a member here for at least 2 weeks to vote

SO you should upload your beat to http://drop.io/stmbbattle124 by 23.59 Thursday, July 16th. Voting until 23.59 Friday the 17th (all times NYC)

ALSO BE SURE TO CHECK THE FAQ THREAD

Good luck gents!

OK, I took the liberty of doing the sample drop.

If 4five agrees, can I suggest a rule change for this battle: YES to outside keys (with the caveat that the sample still has to be the main theme).

Nice one,
Carlos

I think that sample was used a few weeks back. The "l-o-v-e", "sweet whatever" and "look what you've done to me" are ones we haven't used I think. If you up one of those, I'll delete the other one.

cool, so just to confirm:

- the sample is 'sweet whatever' (NOT 'forge your own chains')
- there is a relaxation of the rules: you CAN use keys (but the sample still needs to be the main element).

cheers all!
c.

First to post two weeks in a row. It sucks sometimes cause your song get sooooo low on the list. Don't forget about me. I didn't get a chance to use outside keys cause I'm in school right now and didn't get a chance to bring a keyboard. Hope you enjoy. Peace.

No sweat chief! It's the same as if you wait till the last minute and yours goes into the "more audio" part. I try to listen everyday, that way I'm not overwhelmed on thursday or friday.

While I'm on topic here.
About to upload mine - "Everlight".
Had a percussion sample in it. I left it out.
Is that considered drums or a sample? It's a fairly distinctive sample. But it is just percussion.
