VV2 is eh with a couple standout tracks but compared to Saliva, Lickupon, G.M.C., and Popsnot??!! no contest. wayy too many classic doom songs on the first album.

my thoughts exactly.

i know a lot of people like Vaudville Villain, but to me, this is doom's weakest project, one he seems to have done totally on a "rap for hire" vibe. And the second VV album was clearly a throwaway. what was it, a total of 9minutes of Doom?

Does anyone remember the version called VV 2.5? It's where all the filler was removed from the album. I think it totaled 13 minutes, but it was pretty good.

PS - i voted for Venomous just for fun : )

"interesting" producers indeed. no arguments about doom & lyrics, but the production on VV is amateur. Conceptually and musically, King Geedorah (Doom's own concept and production) stomps all over VV even though Doom only raps on 2 or 3 tracks on that album.

The only track I can remember on VV2 is "Ode To Road Rage", that's a tight track.

@Chevy Chase Jr:
King Geedorah was dope, no doubt. but to say "Viktor Vaughn was his weakest project" is straight b.s.

it's weird, people on message boards often love vik vaughn. but when i talk to real humans, a lot of people bring up the same thing - vv being weak on the production tip.

@grizz, i wasnt a big fan of dangerdoom either, but i remember crosshairs being a really good track. havent heard that album since 05

daamn vaudevllle villain is waaaay sicker than the second, and waaay sick in general, doom tears that shit up!!!! the whole vik character and how he is presented on that album is almost iller than all other doom stuff, just cause he's soo sharp and witty and on point, he raps faster and isn't as loose, which i'm not sayin the other shit is wack cause of that, far from it, but vaudeville is just crazy from doom's lyrical content alone, and the beats are all fresh too, the only reason people might not like the beats is cause it sounds a little electronic so they check the roster and see that its not doom himself and isn't like operation doomsday or mm food so they just pass it right off, but that shit grew on me like crazy from when i first heard it, one of the illest hip hop conceptual albums

bit of a ridiculous poll. first VV album is decent, the second one was pretty rubbish - the only doom cd i've ever been really disappointed with (to the extent of not keeping it). not like he doesn't prepare you for it: "i did it for the advance, the back end sucks". first one is well put together as an album, has a definite flow and cohesion. second one is a hodge-podge of producers and guest spots without a decent theme.

I've been rinsing out this album a lot lately.

Is there a clear explanation of the album's concept? What do you guys think it is? I know he's a time travelling villain or something, but is there more to this?

I'm going to check out VV2 to see if it's really as bad as everyone says it is.
