ok, but whats the point of posting 10 videos if nobody watches them?
prove that your musical knowledge is superior to others?

Just checked out the mix. Def some nice joints on there, but I found myself hoping for the tempo to pick up to some more funkier stuff. I love Claudia. Thats my lady!

i think thats the point - -this is the more dreamy, folky, souly mix. with some heavuer 'funkier' ones to follow.

i thought the mix was radical dood.

Exactamundo... this is just the first of many. The next one is definitely more upbeat. I don't necessarily follow a certain theme when I put these together, it just works out that way sometimes cuz I wanna make sure the mixes are cohesive.

Glad you dig it homie!

I have to recommend Banda Black Rio and their album Maria Fumaca. Very nice mix of funk, soul, and some Brazilian goodness. Here's a good Brazilian music blog for you if you didn't have this already: http://musicadampbaorock.blogspot.com/

Hey all,

I finished up another Brazilian mix. I'm in the process of moving so I wanted to get this out beforehand because my records are gonna be in disarray for a bit while I get settled.

This mix is more upbeat than the first one, but covers all genres again. You may notice some of the same records used as the last one. That's because, as many of you know, good Brazilian records are not one trackers. I assure you I've still just scratched the surface of the collection and have a ton more of these mixes to post. Next up is an all Compacto (7" singles) edition.

I'm going back to Brazil in a few weeks for work, but I'll have some time to get out there to find more records. Yay!

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated.

yeahh, that's more like it

Hey Everybody. I've been studying Brasilian music the past 15 years & there's way more going on in Brasil then the obvious names that always come up. There are some really strong composers & masterpieces of the 70's. Brasil is so huge that there are many smaller styles that fit into the greater heading of MPB. Come check out my page devoted to taking a closer look at Brasil in the 70's. http://jthymekind.blogspot.com/
