who cares man throw it behind you he jacks off to the attention

I have to admit I was a bit thrown off by the whole "beats are meaningless," then basically calling someone inferior for liking beats

really ridiculous

Well the tradition of exaggerated bragging in rhyme form is an african american artform that goes way back. Hip-hop didn't invent mixing beats and it didn't invent rhyming over beats. Hip hop revisionist history is funny.

Wow. A lot of you people don't know SHIT about hip-hop. And to think I thought Stones Throw listeners new what this shit is about. Teaches us a lesson that even underground music has it's share of dumb asses.

I'm gonna go over the good ones.

I don't think beat programmers had anything to do with the birth of this culture, pick up a book.

*spits out Tropicana orange juice all over Afrika Baambata*

What was that?

He then Says this afterwards!

I think theres disconnect between what hip hop is and what rap music is with some of you cats. Shakey how does one stop listening to hip hop? Hip hop is a culture. I don't think you understand my comments, because it appears you don't even understand the culture I'm talking about. You sound like a bandwagon hip hopper.

What a fucking moron!

How the fuck does emceeing and beats making go hand in hand.

And did he seriously re-edit his lyrics on Hip Hop Is Dead (the title track) to sugarcoat his own shit? (Went from "murder the DJ" to "wreck the DJ" and so on). That's just....

The version of the song "Hip-Hop Is Dead," that leaked is censored. The version you buy in the store, won't be.

Just saw the video, it's pretty weak just like the beats and rhymes--I don't buy that mainstream-underground bullshit he's trying for. Like a lot of you, I've grown tired of Nas' "holier than thou" polemics, the cat fell of years ago...he's the "Benny Hinn" of all these so-called rap messiahs I keep hearing about.

Hip-hop DIES a little more with this track.

I used to like Nas. This album sucks...

Either he tried too hard or Kelis did this to him ;)
