It's ok. It needs to be mastered. Everything should sound louder. I would remove the hissing sound and make the snare thump much louder. I love the little singing pattern in the backround...keep it up

the mastering needs to be done by someone else, but i know what u mean...

as far as the mix goes, i personally like how it sits. I reckon with the snare up in the mix it kinda grates against the long sustained chords abit too much and looses the "gliding" feel i hoped to achieve.

If i was to process the drums to beef them up more, there would need to be more rhythmic parts added to compliment them. I like the drums sitting back abit so it all kinda washes over you... (poetic, arty descriptions ahoy. sorry)

by the hssing sound, i assume you mean the rain and water sounds? they're part of the string sample so i could only roll them off with a low pass filter or cut a large band of high frequencies..but then it would lose the "air" of it, if you see what i mean...

but anyways, cheers for the opinion... lord knows we need more variety of that in the world...

yah, i would say turn down the snare a bit, but other than that, pure flavour.

well it only took about 2 hours. pretty quick for me really.

normally i would then leave it a few days before mixing it, but not this time...

one of my mate's on myspaff said he liked the "wooden sounding snare" which was kinda what i wanted it to come across as.
i think the snare sounds like someone slapping an oar. which to my ears is a nice sound. but hey, maybe i should get out more..
