i tried the zune for a little bit and was pretty impressed. There are a couple of things i really admire about this product.

1) build quality. It has a nice weight to it, feels very solid. I wanted to test the scratch factor. took out the keys and tried to scratch it (ipods anyone) i had to put alot of effort to even get a small mark on the player. the screen is large! once again the screen was just about impervious to my household keys. No need to drop extra money for a case, unless you are HYPER anal.

2) user interface is hyperfast in every aspect in comparison to the ipod. Excluding the wi-fi exchange, that was slow.

3) you don't have to purchase a new zune when there are U.I. upgrades.. podcasts are coming soon. The biggest complaint is that you have to be running windows xp - i believe to import, export, download, what have you, where as i-tunes is universal.

4) the zune site for music is limited. keep in mind they wanted to get this ouit before x-mas so it's just going to take some time. being a mac head for so many years i was very impressed with the overall design/and ease of use of this particilar mp3 player..

lets see what happens in a couple of years.

i read in reviews, when synced (zune) to a pc crashed a couple of times. i guess there's some bugs. lets see what happpens w/ zune 1.2???

touch matrix - full video screen pod??

heard talk about this

if apple tosses the hard drive in favor of sd chips that would be great. they also - SERIOUSLY - need to improve the performance time of the user interface for me to purchase a 6 gen.....

sony makes the battery for the pods.....

sony and apple would loose mega money if that happened... opting use of alkaline batteries.

even zune was smart enough to put in a sealed battery to make the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I'll wait until the 2nd Gen Zuma comes out to see if it really worth it. I'm all about my iPod though. :D

the 30gb vid was my first pod since it came out about 6 years ago. It works well and it has a nice design.

if both were itunes compatibale - i'd go for the zune.

the pod seems so flimsy and antiquated in comparison.

as mentioned the user interface is much faster on the zune. The ipod seems relic in comparison.
