Sometimes I can really dig her voice other times not. It is definately unique. I think she is dope on the beats for sure, can't wait for Olesi instrumentals. Makes sense that her dad made instruments for Eddie Harris (right??) and her mother played with Pharoah Sanders (thats right too??), she's definately a little "avant" at times I guess.
I don't know, I really liked her on the Platinum Pied Pipers tracks.

I have always been a fan of avant type stuff and she has a real smooth jazz feel. Sometimes she reminds me of return to forever or some shit like that.
Much love to Georgia, talented visionary, keep doing your thing.

Yeah but he seemed to struggle to get into it. He couldnt get it right or something was wrong with his mic so I think he just gave up or tried to take over the DJ booth during Geogrias set. 'Dudley' is the pefect compliment to her music tho. Man that reminds me of how JRocc KILLED IT with the Dilla originals that night! WE was going crazy during his dilla set!

He should have been doing older material at that show that's probably why the crowd was like that. That album was just released so half the people there prolly didn't have it.
However, I was in the back singing "Funky Dudley" him cuz that's my joint WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA but we shook after it got crowded(I got that people claustraphobia thing) plus my ass was tired and had to drink a red bull to "keep my head up" like Pac...
That's what I get for trying to be "cool" and go out.
There was one room I was really feeling it had a like a 1940's vibe too it, I just peeked in

Not ONLY that, she's pretty dope too.

I'll keep listening though, i tend to find that stuff i didn't really 'get' at first, is the stuff that gets the most plays over time.

Olesi has quickly become one of my favorite albums of the year, along with Donuts, Dabrye's Two/Three, The Roots' Game Theory and some others.
a duet album between her & Dudley, produced by her & Madlib would be crazy
